In my opinion I feel like throughout the entire video, it was meant to create a metaphor where Chrissy is trying to “escape” this inner conflict which has been haunting her for a while. The conflict can clearly be an abusive relationship which is why throughout the song she constantly says how she can’t stand to be touched by this person as it reminds her to the harsh times she would go through. She realized that what was occurring wasn’t correct which is why she says that she can no longer pretend like it’s fine, hence why thought the entire video it’s like an inner battle that Chrissy is fighting for trying to escape from this conflict which has brought her so much disruption and harm. Not until Will and Dan enter and she finally realizes that she will finally be able to overcome it with them. ..

Good observation for me this one really strikes home with a 6-year toxic relationship i had replace it's like I've been sleeping for 2 years with 6 years and I'm just now waking up and yeah I know that feeling. It was the girl's emotional support idiot for 6 years always lying to myself and saying it was okay and we stayed friends for 2 years after that. Finally over all I had was a thinner hairline in a more cynical outlook on life

I think what's really interesting about this song is the perspective of the narrator. From the title "Strangers Again" you'd expect the whole break up thing about being sad and depressed because after the break up it's like being strangers again. But here it's the perspective within the relationship about how she just feels imprisoned and needs the distance but at the same time she doesn't wanna let go of her partner maybe because she doesn't want to hurt her/him. She thinks it's better if they never even started their relationship. And to write about that pov is truly difficult yet amazing. Wonderfully done!! (This is my first time listening to Against The Current though I wanted to do it for a while now. Don't judge me for any grammatical mistakes, English is not my mother tongue)

I find one of the more incredible moments in this video is when Chrissy sends out the shockwave type thing and Dan and Will come into the video. I like to believe this symbolizes Chrissy being trapped and not being able to get away from her troubles and sending out a cry for help. Dan and Will respond and find themselves in their own cases. I like to think this symbolizes them showing her that they will work through everything together. Then in the end, defeating physics and walking up the case walls? Overcoming any obstacle and coming out on top together. But that's just what I think. Feel free to interpret how you like :)

It's of a precise deepness the way the interior motions are depicted: her sharp movements alternated to the quiet moments, the glass cage of the mind... its high needed pure light... very evocative.

It's ironic how people see this video as Chrissy-centric when its message appears to be the opposite. It starts with Chrissy in isolation, as most people see her, in which there's a visible struggle. She sends this wave that brings Dan and Will into the picture. The fact that we see only Chrissy for most of the video doesn't diminish, but in fact emphasizes the moment these two guys come in. Then, it ends with Chrissy overcoming the cage to find her way back to Dan and Will so they can move on together. I'm guessing the light at the end is symbolic of a new chapter in the band's career, one that they'll face together. Take the time to sit down and think about what you're watching, folks.
