In the first match, 3rd game against Bant Knightfall, Seth was free to run out the As Foretold instead of Nahiri. Knightfall never runs basic island, as it can't be sac'd to night to combo off, and blue is only needed for Spell Queller and Coralhelm. Great content as usual, Seth.

I don't think Stony Silence does much of anything against that deck. None of the card draw artifacts have activated abilities and they still gain life from Reservoir. Then when they want to kill us the just Spine of Ish Sah the Stony Silence and activate Reservoir.

I think Wear/Tear in the sideboard could be good here so you don't just lose to Chalice but also helps you against some other stuff like Blood Moon and is deece vs affinity.

Kudos to Seth for sticking around for the 1% chance to win. I've seen so many players, and, I really need to say this, scoop when the chances are low, and it's getting to the point where players are unable to tell if they're the 1% favored to win the match, because they haven't lived to see their 1% win, ever. Specifically, they're guessing that it's a 0% chance to win and scoop. Not only do I concede late, but I occasionally wait for my life total to hit 0 or less before scooping. Seeing it here makes me smile..

Yeah, not scooping as early as one of my resolutions (at least the first game, so people can see what the other deck is doing). If we ended up in the same position in game two or three I probably would have scooped though for the sake of time.

For the sideboard changes, rakdos charm might be an option. It blows up a chalice and can be used to purge a graveyard and set up a living end.

Pathing Gargadon against the mono blue deck was a mistake. With spine the probably kill one As Foretold and the Gargadon so you could Living End and return your creature and wrath their board.

Would one or two Ingot Chewers in the sideboard work for anti chalice tech? you get to evoke them for one and they avoid the chalice, and, can be recurred with living end in a pinch.

Sweet deck, I think it has possibilities for being a real deck, and as foretold is the kind of card that gets better as it gets older, I would totally cut the borderpost and add 3 remands, or more digging, since this deck weakness is that half of it depends on as foretold

That Semblance Anvil / Aetherflux Reservoir deck was pretty sweet! I played something like that in the old Extended format back in Scars block , only the payoff was the Time Sieve / Thopter Assembly combo. Something very similar to this: magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/building-budget/lets-do-again-besieged-edition-2011-02-02 There were also even jankier versions that played Glassdust Hulk as the win condition.

In the last game vs mono-U aetherflux there was no reason to flashback the looting when you had Tolaria west and As Foretold in your hand, you had seen whir in the first game and they left open a ton of mana with 4 cards in hand, if you had just transmuted for the restore balance that would have forced them to whir to blow up the As foretold on the field and leave you with enough mana to cast the extra in your hand preventing them from getting any wurmcoils. Drawing cards is not helpful when you have the cards you need in hand already, it is better to spend 3 mana on a 100% to get the one you need than on a much smaller %. That loss was on you.

Don't cast a Serum Visions if you plan on saccing a fetch land right after that. Cast on your main phase if you absolutely need something to resolve (you saw your opponent had Spell Queller already, and you basically just lose to them casting it, which they did). Narset has a -2 ability (Multiple times you had Visions/Balance in hand with As Foretold out and just kept marching Narset on up). Pretty sure a rebounded Visions is just better with a loss of loyalty than a hope-to-hit off of a +1. You would've lost to a bolt off of the top of the deck against Skred, but could have avoided it with a Narset emblem, which you could have done the turn before. You played out a game where you pretty dead, but snap conceded to a chalice. At the time, your opponent wasn't doing much, so you still could conceivably win off of Nahiri if your opponent stumbled (was it likely? no, but why not wait a couple of turns to see).
