Growing up in segregated Little Rock, Arkansas, Raye Montague faced the hurdles of being African American, female, and having a segregated education while pursuing her dreams of becoming a Naval engineer. Through hard work, perseverance, and refusing to take "no" for an answer, Montague became a Naval engineer, and ended up revolutionizing the way ships and submarines are designed. She ended her career as the first female Program Director of Ships for the Navy. (U.S. Navy video by Austin Rooney/Released)
