I really like your videos! Best I've seen for this game so far! I love that you go through and explain all the reasoning behind your decisions, and those decisions very clearly pay off based how fast you win each run! Its really easy to listen and understand, especially as someone who only watches this game and doesnt play it. Some of the other channels i checked out were very hard to follow, doing minor exploits to save pennies and dimes or not explaining their order of priorities and such. Looking forward to more videos from you when you can make them!

First time I watch a video of yours and it is crazy how efficient you play this. My biggest take away, and there are many, is that I will try to incorporate rainwater in my play the way you do it. TY for making this video.

Thank you and welcome! Yes, rainwater is very strong. If you have what you need to produce purging fire and pipes, you should definitely pipe every building!

Welcome back! Easily the best AtS content out there, and I'm happy to see more of it! You explain your thought process very well, and your voice is very calm and soothing to listen to. Your videos have helped me improve my gameplay significantly. Looking forward to the next video!

Those cornerstones were insane! I'm on P17 but I can see how much room for improvement I have in terms of efficiency. I honestly didn't even think it was possible to win games as quickly as you're doing lol. Great content.

Welcome back! I've been spamming Ashen Thicket in my current adamantine seal cycle and most of my cornerstones were so mediocre 😅 In the last game I didn't even find a mine until year 3, at which point I was already close to winning. If I find coal I will try for at least one cornerstone, but for copper/salt I will probably ignore it unless the cornerstone is gamebreaking. Your channel is such a great example of how to make gameplay videos of a slower game like Against the Storm. Long enough for me to understand your choices and to see the progress of the settlement. But not so long that it overstays its welcome and becomes boring. You've inspired me to start start recording some of my own games once I get more used to P20 difficulty.
@NarcoATS19 күн бұрын
Thank you! Actually, watching my own gameplay has helped me progress very quickly recently. It's similar to watching replays in fighting games. This process allows you to spot your mistakes and start working on them.

Welcome back! I -just- completed my Queen's Hand Trial after several tries and just wanted to say how big of a help your videos have been on my journey, all the way from fearing the Prestige levels to now having completed the QHT, there's been a lot of improvement thanks to you. I feel like there's also a lot to still learn, as I nearly failed it with a few seconds difference between solving the cache and losing to Impatience's grace period. Will you try to do a QHT run as well at some point on your channel? Looking forward to the next video regardless!
@NarcoATS15 күн бұрын
Hello! I'm glad my videos were helpful to you! First, I need to finish the Adamantine cycle, and then I'll try the QHT! Thank you!

You're absolutely insane dude, what a come back ! I always try to go for Negative world modifiers to have an extra challenge (from P2 to P6 in one week and currently only going up) and tackling them using the tricks I learned watchibg your videos has been a blast lately. Thank you a lot for that. On that matter, I'd love to see you tackle two or more negative negative modifiers at the same time. Maybe not during this run, but for a future run ? Or even more modifiers at once if the training expedition thingy allows for that ?
@NarcoATS19 күн бұрын
Thank you! Well, it all depends on the map, really! I think I will play games with two negative modifiers at the same time during this cycle, because there are a lot of points of interest where I'm going right now. Some combinations can be really tricky, so it should be fun. I would also love to play a Forsaken Town and a 'no pause' modifier. :D
@lecureilfou925418 күн бұрын
@NarcoATS Oh yeah the infamous "no pause". I didn't try yet and will be very interested to see how you manage to explain everything you do without pausing. On the other hand, there are a lot of times where the game is paused because of something on the screen, namely cornerstones and blueprints choices.
@NarcoATS18 күн бұрын
@@lecureilfou9254 If I remember properly, the game doesn't even pause during cornerstones, orders and blueprints choices with this modifier.

Love the videos, keep it up! For feedback, personally I like when gameplay is unedited and videos are a bit longer. Can't speak for everyone though.
@christianjohansson718520 күн бұрын
That would be fun to me too ^^. As long as player'd be ok with having more time to talk over.
@MartinUnsal20 күн бұрын
It's all a matter of personal preference, but I feel compelled to speak up with the opposite view: I love these videos exactly because they are edited! If I wanted to watch 3 hours of someone else playing AtS I'd watch RonEmpire for example. :)
@DuduRossetto20 күн бұрын
Adding to the discussion: I've tried watching other content creators during your hiatuses and... I mostly can't. THe lenght of videos is not the main problem, I usually watch long but interesting videos piece-meal, but there's a lot of air during a 1:30h-2h video. Your narration and thought process is the absolute number 1 reason why I put your content so above the rest. Maybe longer videos wouldn't be a problem if they came with the quality commentary
@NarcoATS20 күн бұрын
Thank you, everyone, for the nice comments! I won't make unedited videos because I play too slowly-it would be really boring, and I wouldn’t know what to say anyway. My goal is to create tight, insightful and informative videos. There is one exception, though: if I come across a 'no pause' modifier at some point, I’ll post the entire unedited game. That would be so much fun to do!

I've made some decent cornerstones in the ashen thicket, but that is by far the best I've seen. I've never even encountered the reduce hostility one yet, the fact you could pair with with water production is nuts.

So much hype for this run! Also, I know this is a standard strategy for you, but opening two glades in first drizzle is crazy lol. Everytime I've tried I get terrible events that take forever to solve (like Fishmen cave) hahaha
@NarcoATS19 күн бұрын
Thanks! I've been very lucky with these dangerous events. Every time I take the risk, I know the dangers, haha. Though I only do it when I have enough amber to buy stuff from the traders (like the coal here). But it's still risky, I know... I'm sure it'll catch up with me at some point during this cycle.

I just got the game and his y1 is the same as my y5. Could this pace work for lower difficulties?
@crow1crow1crow8 күн бұрын
@@Owlstronaut If anything higher difficulty makes you go slower - your villagers eat more, buildings are more expensive, events take longer to solve and negative conditions more harsh. The only benefit he can have over fresh account is citadel upgrades, but I don't think they offset p20 difficulty modifiers. By all means - try to employ his strategy in your game.

My city is only lvl 10. I just got the second seal now. I love this "quick win" strategy. Is it viable at low levels? For example, my humans can't see where there are hidden fields etc.
@NarcoATS13 күн бұрын
You can't do everything yet, of course. You need important upgrades like the rainpunk engines, but the logic of the strategy remains the same: trying to gain as much reputation as possible at all times by fulfilling orders and increasing your species' resolve. If you are interested, I posted a tutorial about resolve and reputation on my channel.
@LeleLiu-f8h12 күн бұрын
question. should we crack open the first dangerous glave in drizzle 1 or storm1/drizzle 2? I see both being done.
@NarcoATS12 күн бұрын
It really depends on the context, but nowadays, I mostly open one in Drizzle 1. Everything is faster from there, and I have more information (resources, caches' content, etc.) to make better choices afterwards. But I would advise you to take the Amber embarkation bonus to do it. This way, you can call a trader and buy the items you lack for the dangerous event (if you lack any).
@LeleLiu-f8h12 күн бұрын
Thank you! I'll wait until i unlock the ember embarkation bonus then. currently i've always been taking the 30 oil because it solves a lot of dangerous glade event when I start but sometime i get unlucky.
@NarcoATS11 күн бұрын
Don’t you start with 28 coal by default? It helps resolve a lot of dangerous glade events too. You just have to save it and use wood for your hearth instead. I’ve never chosen oil!
@DuduRossetto20 күн бұрын
Aaww yeah the BEST ATS CONTENT ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB PS: How much of a priority would you evaluate getting the Thunderblight Shards be for fast wins? I usually rush the first mine if I have salt+salt recipe (jerky or maybe waterskins) or if I have coal, but I do it mostly as a balance of efficiency + fun from getting dope cornerstones
@NarcoATS20 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! Since this is the only game I've played in the Ashen Thicket so far, I can't say for sure, but what I do know is that the first cornerstone I created in this game was extremely powerful. So I think I will continue rushing to build a mine in the Ashen Thicket. There was no hesitation here because it was a coal mine. I’m not sure what I would do if it were a copper mine, though. As you said, it's also very fun to forge your own cornerstones (and give them names!).
@_DaemonCleaner17 күн бұрын
As with everything else in BTS, the Thunderblight stuff is kind of random. Narco had some awesome stuff going now, but you can also get like ... "Gain 2 amber for every three completed trade routes, but traders arrive 50% slower".
@voidify38 сағат бұрын
Why do you explicitly forbid people from eating complex foods they don’t like? Surely they’d only try if there was nothing they liked and they were starving?
