Great video! I'm thinking that big chunker at 11:43 is an agate that was fractured while forming and got some heavy limonite staining. That's definitely something to cut or polish in the future!

Thanks Dustin for the tips! This for sure will be one to cut open because I think you are right about the staining.

@@rodenbergrocks I’m definitely not an expert on your area but that’s my suspicion keep us updated 👍🏻

Great finds, I never made it up any rivers like that, looks like a great time. That one might be a brecciated agate, I'm not sure about the big one. Both are really cool though

Thanks Maple! The water levels have been dropping pretty fast which allows for these to be a lot more exposed which is nice.

@Rodenberg Rocks it was such a different experience up there compared to Lake Michigan, the tumbling quality material is so sparse, it was easy to get discouraged at first, but when you find things, it's that much more exciting! It's really neat that different areas are revealed as the season progresses and its cool to see how that changes picking locations and keeps videos fresh. It's definitely more of an adventure up there!

The big one at 7.30 looks like banded chert. The other big one looks like it could be chert as well.

Thanks for the input Danielle. I think you are probably right! Chert gives off that waxy look a little bit so I think it may deceive me at times!

@rodenbergrocks there is a lot of chert in Michigan as well. It's in the same family as jasper and agate, so sometimes it's hard to tell.

I was hoping you would've talked more as you were showing your finds at the end.

I appreciate the feedback, Suzette. Still working on the best way to approach the videos to suit everyone the best and I will take that into consideration :)
