This was one of my most epic Rock Hunts Yet! I found so many amazing agates and petrified wood pieces! This was mostly because I floated a section of river on my Kayak and hunted the gravel bars that are normally impossible to access unless you are floating the river. I Hope you guys had a great weekend. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel!

I love hunting for rocks. There came a time when I literally had to make myself stop. I had a really hard time staying to two or three rocks to take home. Usually in river beds. I finally set my limit to one. Once home I did everything I could to come up with ideas for my rocks. At that time I didn't even know about agates, geodes, quartz, obsidian and so on and so forth and Scooby Dooby Dooby. Anyway for the goodtimes and

It's so nice to see how someone can be made happy just by spending time outside and take closer looks onto treasures of nature. And I like to listen to you, you have such a pleasant voice and good pronounciation that it is quite easy to listen and understand and follow you! This is just calming down and relaxing to watch. It feels like a friend is talking and explaining. Thank you so much!

I have been rockhounding for over 50 years, but still don’t know much about the rocks. I just know that I like them. I used to spend hours and hours as a kid, scouring through gravel piles, and riverbanks, for rocks, fossils, and bones. My uncle called me a rock and bone witch. I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and have spent the summer getting back to this wonderful hobby.

High I'm from Saskatoon (I called it Mecca, you move away, move back, again & again) I live in Surrey, BC now. The best place I ever rock hounded at was Big Shell Lake. It didn't have a sand beach...it had a pebble beach. A beach full of rounded flat oval stones, in every color combo & pattern you could think of, & they only needed minimal tumbling.

Love, love, love rocks. Mother nature is amazing. I live near Lake Erie, NE of Cleveland. I bring home rocks that I think are pretty. I have no idea what they are. I have one that is basically cream color with pink and black stripes. I picked up a bunch of flat ones and made a water fountain in a flower pot. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Names John from Chicago. I've always loved rock hunting since I was a kid. Now that I have kids of my own I have gotten back into it. Slim pickins in the city. Always look through landscaping stones and I've had good luck there. But nothing like this. I absolutely love watching these videos. Motivates me to move out to less urbanized life. One day I will i guess. For now ill hunt at beaches and streams in the forests of illinois. Thanks for sharing your adventures keeps me motivated to move out of the chaos and into the beautiful country.

I’m very new to rockhounding so I’ve been relying on video channels such as yours to learn what to look for. I’m in Ohio and I’ve only been out twice here but I still found a lot of fun stuff. My first rockhounding ever was about a month ago in Michigan. Very different landscape! Anyway, thanks for the videos. Hopefully some day I’ll be able to hound the Yellowstone as well. Stay safe and have fun! 🤗

Hello Alex! Thanks for your videos! They inspired me to look by myself in the largest river in Germany, the Rhine, and I made a lot of fantastic finds! Agates, quartz breccia, lytite, dark red iron pebbles, perhaps jasper and i hope petrified wood and so much more that I have yet to determine. Keep it up and always "luck open" Edit: Your find in the video: It may be chalcedony (its blue) with quartz

Hey Alex, great video man, I do like your enthusiasm for rockhounding! Some lovely finds on those gravel bars, and always beautiful scenery. I live in western oregon and just started getting into rockhounding. Almost lost my house and shop in a 135,000 acre forest fire last week, but we saved our place and no one was hurt. I was actually rockhounding when the fire came in, it travelled 17 miles in about 12 hours and the east wind was blowing 25-50 mph, and it was scary!!! Had just enough time to set up a sprinkler on the roof and grab a duffel bag and go. It came in so fast. we just got done mopping up the last of the hotspots on our road yesterday, it felt good to help our neighbors that were evacuated. Im just so glad we are ok, but oregon has lost over 1 million acres in just a few weeks. Anyways its nice to be back, keep up the awesome content. :)

Hi Alex, great little trek, some nice looking finds. Although I haven't found any yet I am becoming a fan of jasper. Although my kids started the nickname " old Silverback" I'm still very much a novice to fossicking, ( Rockhounding) so I've got a lot to learn and discover, I know there is quite a lot of different material within a 2-3 hrs drive of my location so I'll have to keep getting out there and continue looking. Unfortunately they don't appear any where near as productive as your Yellowstone River. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin

Alex that ‘Butt cheek’ agate might be an Iris Agate. Fine banding inside diffracts the light from the surface and causes rainbows inside the ‘clear/milky’ agates, they are REALLY super cool!! Geology.com has great information about them. I tried to paste a picture but it wouldn’t let me.

At 8:10, is that also petrified wood above and to the left of the piece you found? I thought I saw wood- like grain in the the lower half of the tan and dark piece.

Hello there. I'm a beginner and I dont have much nature near me to really search for so I have these clusters of landscaping rocks and I search for rocks there in a daily basis so it's both painful and thrilling to know that there are places FILLED with cool rocks. Anyways, if you read this, I would appreciate some tips or any advice to find cool rocks or identify them, so yeah. Love from a newbie in India
