Agatha All Along episode 6 review, late but not forgotten. Episode 7 review will be out this weekend but first, I died laughing at this one. It was a whole prequel episode dedicated to a character that no-one cares about, telling you things you already knew about him. So on top of making the story worse, turning him evil, and constantly reminding you of his preferences. It also confirmed him to be completely evil and a body snatcher. I'm not sure why this was supposed to help the series. But what did you think of what you saw? Let know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Wait, the cover up is "The Avengers did it"? Who does that cover? Who even are the Avengers at this point? Because either Wanda's an Avenger, and so she still gets the blame and the "cover up" just makes everyone else guilty as well, or she's not an Avenger, and therefore there's no logical reason why they'd cover for her at the expense of The Avengers reputation.
@GideonRavenor7122 ай бұрын
AFAIK she never signed the Sokovia Accords either, so yea formally she is not a recognized "Avenger" in-universe. She went with Cap and the others who refused, and was briefly arrested. Considering Wandavision happened right after Endgame, I don't believe that changed. Meaning anything she does/did technically don't matter to the reputation of the Avengers in the official sense (She also already publicly blew their reputation anyway in Civil War and caused the final push for the Accords), and she doesn't join them afterwards IIRC (Considering in MoM she goes villain immediately), so why bother with a cover-up of "Avengers training exercise? But then, Wandavision's plot is already nonsense in that Dr. Strange apparently had no input on dealing with a major arcane phenomenon happening in his own backyard when that is quite literally HIS business (All because they didn't want a man teaching a woman how to do Witchcraft). That, and there's the even bigger question of why anyone who was in Westview previously was still living near Agatha? They know who she is and what she could do if she ever "woke up" again. Did part of the 'cover-up' not include relocating people away from the spell-bound Witch who may or may not ever regain her personality? Or why didn't they relocate her? They didn't judge her as a public risk? They just trust Wanda kept her under wraps (Amazing because they certainly don't trust Wanda to use her powers sensibly)?
@84C42 ай бұрын
@@GideonRavenor712 It's a bit hard to answer all that, so I'll number your paragraphs: 1. The problem's deeper than not knowing if she's signed the accords, we don't even know if the accords are still a thing anymore, the world building's completely busted. 2. Exactly my point, it makes no sense to throw the Avengers under the bus to save her reputation. Even if she were an Avenger, the most logical solution would be the other way around, throwing her under the bus to save the Avenger's reputation. Who even are the Avengers now? 3. I can sort of rationalize it being a blind spot for Strange because her "magic" isn't done by usual means and it's still a fairly small, localized event compared to what just happened in Endgame, so he could be busy with bigger issues, but the meta knowledge of why they excluded him is just pathetic, Marvel's completely lost. 4. I'm not sure if they even know about Agatha being a witch or what exactly's happening with her spell, so I can't even begin to address this point, it's all fucked. Shouldn't there also be a Vision running around in the world somewhere? Wtf happened to him, and why's everyone (including Wanda) forgotten about him?
@GideonRavenor7122 ай бұрын
@@84C4 1: True enough, didn't think of that, but then as you said, I don't think the writers have either. 2: Got me. Dr. Strange is not public, Captain America is but there's dispute there over which is "recognized", Spider-Man and Black Panther are "local" entities, Captain Marvel doesn't care to come to Earth unless she is forced to, Ms. Marvel is not recognized, Gods know what Hulk is doing, Thor is in a perpetual holding pattern, The Guardians had nothing to do with Earth, Ant-Man and co. even in-universe are an after-thought despite how vital his role was, and none of the other minor heroes they've done shows or films on are recognized either AFAIK. 3: One could argue it's outside his wheelhouse, but the fact he doesn't involve himself at all when particularly after his first movie he makes it his business to try and keep tabs on the more "supernatural" entities/elements floating around Earth, and Westview, while a small town, is not that far from NY, is just a head-scratch. And yea, we know the Meta-reasoning why. 4: Yea, pretty major. They forgot about him completely for Dr. Strange 2 as well. I could understand them not knowing how Wanda's spell on her worked . . . but you'd think that would warrant moving her after what they saw just happen. Or why Wanda wouldn't have told anyone.
@84C42 ай бұрын
@@GideonRavenor712 3. I'm looking at it more in a sense of getting a plausible reason for it going under his radar because tbh, if he had noticed it he'd have solved it immediately. So my reasoning was that because it's her mutant(?) power emulating withcraft (which is in itself a different form of magic), it could have not raised any alarms. Or if it did, the fact that it was a small, localized incident could have had him dismiss it. Let's not forget that he'd also just been "unsnapped", so the mystic world could be in complete chaos after 5 years without him. A more reasonable meta reason for it could also be monetary, or possibly it counting as one of the mandatory appearances in his contract. 4. Well, Wanda ran off and then died, so it's very unlikely she'd tell anyone. My guess is that no one even knows about Agatha, so they wouldn't know to move her, but I suspect the real reason is that these writers simply don't care how the game was set up, they'll just move the board pieces around when you're not looking and cheat their way into getting whatever result they want. Another thing that was forgotten was "The Scarlet Witch" as a primal entity inside Wanda. MCU's Wanda always felt more like Jean Grey, so I thought they were setting up her own version of the Dark Phoenix, explaining her sudden power boost and turn to evil, but then that was dropped too.
@GideonRavenor7122 ай бұрын
@@84C4 Well yea, for Agatha's case they're just doing whatever they want in the moment. Just look at how they start this series. If Wanda trapped her as this character she played as, why the hell is it a police drama in Agatha's mind? Now, they could have done some interesting stuff with that if it was played straight (Imagine if the spell's effect had been Agatha's mind was stuck in a perpetual loop of a crime she never solved no matter how close she'd get?) and if the character had been that type to begin with, but no they just wanted a quirky over-dramatic parody of various crime dramas regardless of whether or not it made sense with the end of Wandavision.

I asked one guy (who apparently deleted his comments after) in another video on this who claimed the writing was amazing, one set of questions, because I have yet to see any fan of this show answer them: -Why should we care about Agatha, given what we know from Wandavision, and how she portrays herself here? Why would we WANT her to get her power back? I've not gotten or seen a compelling answer, which is a big problem because this is the crux of the show's premise. Any story, with "amazing writing" within a series like this, has to be able to explain why we should care about the main character's goal. Particularly so for a returning character who was a villain the last time we saw them. I've gotten the corporate-approved defense lines a couple times, effectively trying to claim the "it's not made for you", but nobody I have seen has yet to explain that, and we're 7 episodes deep. I've seen some essentially pretending like this is some standalone that has ties to nothing, when it's not. This show doesn't exist without Wandavision or MoM, and particularly with the former, WHY should we care about Agatha? This isn't like Loki where he had roughly half a dozen films to build and develop his character and turn him into more of an anti-hero or reluctant hero before he got his own show. Agatha we have ONE show, where she was a side-character and villain.

@@ManLikeBetty You can argue that one has some qualities in the writing, with Disparu even remarking on some elements of the 'time-jumping' aspect of it not being bad. And that evidently the writers did think about how to make that fit, because you can easily break a script with that. But . . . the series still suffers from overarching issues that haven't really been resolved which weigh down EVERY episode: -Why do we care about Agatha? -Why do we want Agatha to get her power back? (Especially prevalent question along with the last to anyone who watched Wandavision, the entire reason this show exists) -What relevance does this plotline have to the wider series at large? (Especially since they already destroyed the Darkhold and blew their chance at a House of M storyline by rushing Scarlet Witch) Apparently, to introduce Lady Death. Didn't use her for Thanos, didn't use her for Deadpool, the theories of Hela being her were wrong, nope apparently she's here.

So - if he had enough physical damage to kill him, how was he alive being "posessed"? Has the damage been fixed, or is he now an animated, walking dead zombie who will begin rigor mortis soon and rotting soon after? If the damage was fixed, why the posession? Considering the kind of accident they were in, where they slid sideways into a tree, his fatal injury would likely be a cushed skull and severe brain damage. Maybe that explains the rest of the series - it's just the imagination of a dying brain.

The situation was ridiculous. Yes, sure, Billy 'knows' (more like has an emotional aptitude he has but doesn't have any knowledge of how to actually use) magic, but if he has enough power to heal a body from critical injuries and then possess it, why did he not have enough to simply maintain the form he had? IIRC Wanda didn't willingly destroy them all with her powers, she simply "let go" of the illusion and let them fade away. Better yet, he was not the same age as the kid here. You can't 'fake' mental development, or lack thereof. Would have been simpler if they'd just had it like his original version where he just reincarnates into a newly conceived baby, remembers nothing at the beginning, but chance meeting resparks the memories of his 'past life'. But then, they wouldn't have Teenage Billy be in continuity with the rest of the franchise, he would be later.
