The 8 and 9 structure they did here was so much better. There was just a lot more time to breathe after "the big battle". Most finales stuff the battle + emotional resolution into one, and it ends up feeling more rushed. Giving more time for the emotional resolution was a very smart move on the creators' part, and people just aren't used to it. I think this type of ending will work better in the long-run

I think Billy’s mind reading combined with his reality building created the road and the trails. He subconsciously pulled from their thoughts to create Lillia’s maestra, Jennifer’s doctor etc. he has both powers which he was figuring out along the road. So I think that was why the road and trials were specific to them

Yeah, doing a full-on episode swap definitely wouldn’t have worked. I think if they had done the finale as a single 90-minute block they could have swapped around and intercut some of the individual sequences, but as structured, this was the most logical flow possible. As with many of these 9-episode shows, I think it probably would have really structurally benefited from one additional episode.

I think the way billy's hex worked, as opposed to Wanda's, is that it tapped more into not only his subconscious, but everyone else's, allowing their own fears, insecurities, end history to influence it.

Remember that Agatha is the only person he's been around who's mind has been quiet to him, so as each of the other Witches were tested, their own thoughts about what they'd be tested on likely influenced Teen's subconscious as those tests and situations were manifested on The Road. Remember that the "Darkhold in the Crib" wasn't something that actually happened, but just what Teen was told she'd done.

My family loves Elf but our go-to Christmas movie is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. It’s one of my mom’s favorite movies! THIS I was thinking with billy he doesn’t need to know your fears by verbally hearing it, he subconsciously made the entire road and was subconsciously going through all of the characters minds and using their greatest fears against them like what the ballad had stated and like what Agatha told them when they first arrived so it’s not a matter of “how did he know” he reads minds and he has no control over that’s fact as seen in episode 6 when he was constantly hearing his parents thoughts and just reacting to them as if they were talking
