I.m growing my attenuata in pots as they have to be brought in for the cold frosty days. They are the most beautiful plants and definitely easy to grow.

They really are fabulous succulents. Pots are a good choice as they can go a bit feral and take over a garden 🙂 I forever see people putting huge cuttings on the kerbside for others to take.

Does anyone know if you can propagate Agave from just the leaves you cut off? Mine doesn't have pups.

From what i could find in online forums, Agave don't propagate from leaves. I also was not able to get any Agave leaves to grow and have tried with multiple types 😭

so this is basically a giant propagatable chicks&hens plant?
@SucculentGrowingTips11 ай бұрын
You could definitely say that- it grows loads of chicks that can easily be propagated 🙂👍

it's pronounced "ah-gah-vey". LOL

There are a few different pronunciations used. Spanish, British English, American English. If you google Agave pronunciation the first one is a-gayv, then uh-gay-vee, uh-gah-vay and a few others. I'm not saying my pronunciation is correct but, you can say it in more than one way 👍

@@SucculentGrowingTips It's a spanish word. All Americans know how to say it properly because there are lots of spanish words in our vocabulary. Especially in California where these plants are everywhere. I have never heard anyone pronounce it the way that you are. I had no idea what you meant until I saw the spelling of the video.

I'm aware it's a Spanish word but it is also derived from the Latin word Agaue and agauos. What i'm saying is that there are multiple ways people pronounce it- i've heard Americans pronounce it uh-gah-veee and uh-gay-vee, not ah-gah-VEY like you say above, so clearly not all Americans. Just like with sooo many other words, depending on where in the world you are, you'll have people pronouncing it differently.@@EMVelez
