I still find it strange how the tarnished can choose the dung-eater ending where everyone gets cursed with horn-AIDS, complemented by a shit-coloured sky. But an age of compassion ending? Nah. Miquella has to be Griffith.

@@purehollow You are right. The developers stick to the simple murder-hobo route where the tarnished has to be elden lord no matter what. The ambition as to why is never fleshed out, but that is fromsoft's writing style.

@@gabrielguyenot3960 honestly it would have been more interesting if the plot was about you choosing to serve a specific lord or a demigod faction like rykard, mohg, miquella etc,,, it would have made all the endings and questlines just as deep as Ranni quest and ending, I think most of us agree it's the best questline and ending in the game

They should have built the DLC more as a quest rather than a final fight. Miquella's quest isn't imbued into the DLC, he of course appears but he's not the main character. We follow on his steps, but he's not here, we build no direct emotional relationship to him. Ranni on the contrary got the chance to do that, she is the main character in her story and offers us to join her side even if we don't know much about her in the beginning. There's no mention of Malenia or Torrent, plus why would he be so adamant in choosing Radhan and Mohg if he witnessed our true strength? Of course Radhan is kind, but so can we be if we are offered to choice to do so. We know that he did everything to save his siblings because of what Ranni did. FS really wiped all of this to portray him as a vilain. He doesn't even say a word when defeated but embraces his brother 🤦🏻‍♀️ What happened, did he foresee this ? If yes, why the choice of consort, if no, wasn't Miquella supposed to be a prodigy with great intellect who entrusted us with Torrent from the beginning 😩

It would be really funny if this wasn't the end, but instead you would be teleported to the outside of the burning Erdtree with the ability to summon Miquella and Radhan for the Radagon/Elden beast fight.

Honestly, it would have to happen. Just cause Miquella is a god and doing all this in the land of shadow doesn’t mean the lands between still isn’t being held in an eternal purgatory slowly decaying because of Radagon. We still need to stop him, unless Miquella just flat out forsook the LB and decided fighting or dealing with his mom/dad and the Elden ring wasn’t in his grand scheme

@@gunsevenwhillans420 nope Age of fracture: nothing changes, the genocide, race wars suffering continue Age of the dusk born: again we only bring death to the world by destroying the cicle of rebirth, we didnt resolve any conflicts at all Age of order: only a short term solution, man is just as flawed as gods once they recieve power, again the root of the problem remains Doodoo ending: just shit Age of the stars: ranni started the shattering war in order to archieve her goal, she doesnt solve any conflicts quite the opposite really, she wants to leave with her order the lands between however this while removing the flawed golden order doesnt solve any problems. She also based her order on the moon and stars which are deeply connected with the outer gods or perhaps one theirself. People can make their own discisions now but this while just lead to more war and suffering (like in our world). Frenzy: no suffering but everyone is dead. Not really that good

Genocide of the hornsent, hornsents kill marikas innocent people, madness, genocide of the giants, the lands of reeds is a giant massacre, torture and murdrr of the albinaurics and omens, war between carian manor and leyandell, banishmend of the tarnished, tyranny under the golden order, influence of the outer gods, slavery, constant war in the whole world.

@@justreadberserkd1021 Now, where exactly did you get all this information on the endings from? The Ranni explanation seems quite accurate but as far as I am concerned there is no direct explanation for what happens in any other ending aside from Frenzied Flame. It is implied that the Hornsent become the dominant race in the world again in the Age of the Turdtree ending, but there isn't anything stating what exactly happens in Age of the Duskborn ending and in Age of Perfect Order the idea of "Man being just as flawed as gods therefore the root of the problem remains" is not particularly smart because man both doesn't get much say in anything unlike the gods and is also not flawed - gods are supposed to have no ambition and not be fickle as humans, while humans are essentially perfect as they are, and trying to "fix" humans in the same way Goldmask did gods basically just results in a world where Nothing Ever Happens. And Age of Fracture is only implied to literally just be how it was before the Shattering except with no wars due to there not being anything or anyone for the Golden Order to exterminate, meaning that it is indeed quite peaceful.

should have been in the game honestly. There were so many signs and hints to some sort of alternative ending. The trailer hinting at an alternative ending (miquella asking someone to be his consort) needle knight ledas questline which was in support of miquella and kinda hard to do morally and saint trina telling you why you should kill miquella. It felt like there was some type of choice where other characters atleast try to talk you out of it. I was clueless the whole playthrough expecting 2 endings and the only difference was the type of talismans and gear you get which was kinda suprising and lowkey disappointing.

Not having a new ending was my big disappointment of the DLC. They could've still let us do the fight, but have an option to spare Miquella afterwards, summoning him like Ranni at the end.

I wanted a NG+ so bad where we destroyed everything as the Lord of Frenzied flame and now the lands between us just a barren ash world with nothing in it. Then at the foot of the Erdtree we fight Melina awakened Gloam eyed Queen with the full power of destined death, if we lose we get ending 1 where Melina uses the rune of death to bring upon a new age and as a empyrean becomes the new god of the world Or Ending 2 where we kill Melina and all that ever was of the Elden Ring, even the rune of death.. are gone.. and thus the Greater Will would have abandoned the Lands between for good.

Okay, if this gets fleshed out a bit more. With like, custom camera angles? This is something that would be amazing.... Even if his ending is potentially a bad ending.... So? You can make the world go full Omen curse mode. Or, even worse, have CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD. And literally kill everyone (except Melina for some reason.) So.... A brainwashed dictatorship doesn't sound so bad in comparison.... Though, I do feel like there should be extra steps to this. Like, kill Radabeast already or, something. I dunno.

Love it. Though it makes sense why we weren't given this option thanks to Miquella's orbital laser strike: "Miquella sought to accept all that was and would be, but found one that refused to be embraced. No wonder, as one god, and one lord, is all the world needs." The chuds in their idiocy think that somehow means Radahn is being controlled... But _you_ the player, the lord of the old order, are the one who refused Miquella. The world needs not: one god and two lords.

Im guessing the fight of phase 2 starts if you click refuse. Which is very cool. This ending has a cool idea to it, but just like the lord of frenzied flame ending, its kinda like the "villainous" ending, and i personally despise Miquella with every fiber of my being, so naturally id rather murder him than let him have his way.

Miquellas compassion is false, he abandoned his love and his emotions in his pilgrimage to get rid of his golden order touched body. How can one be compassionate and love if he figuratively and literally cast his own love into a mass grave? Hidden and sealed for all eternity. From an ontological perspective he comits the same sins of Marika by trying to divest himself from Marika, he shows that out of all emotions, hubris guided him the most and he probably forgot to cast it down too. He would not be an unbiased lord of good, he would be a blind lord without knowledge of good, good would be determined by his a posteriori experience and him as its only measure, it would be a solipsist good. Furthermore he has no moral issues with mind controlling people and tries into you during the fight, along with ruling with the strongest demigod and a lord of war you could fully expect him to convert dissidents by force, his peace would be a peace forced by brain washing not by welcoming of his message. A thousand years voyage guided by thr lack of free will, how can it be good if one is forced into it? Even now there are people in real life who claim to champion good and are willing to destroy your life, make you lose your job and even physically strike you for daring to disagree with their ideology, miquella is no different and his club is radahn. His message of love is therefore a rough equivalent of the real life thelema cult definition of love, a fluid definition meant to fill the rulers need, a sophistry, hollow and fickle. In the end miquella is just another fuckle god as Goldmask saw, one trying to bend the world to his will and without the wisdom to see the consequences of his actions. A tyrant who claims to love his subjects is still a tyrant, raised to power by his own plays, not by wide appraisal. Still, it's a better ending than most save for Ranni and Goldmask.

My imagination or hope for the ending was that we cross the divinity gate and be transported to another plane of existence ( similar to the dragon memory in ds2 ) and find a huge empty throne colored like the elden beast skin and upon examining it a massage says " long gone ". Implying that the greater will abandoned the lands between since the shattering and miquella quest to be granted audience with it was all for nothing.

Brainwash by definition means that a subject become a robot/ zombie that lost their will or is slaved to the will of someone else. This is not happens in miquella's case, All of his followers were still minding their own business. Ansbach was spying miquella's whereabouts and plans to decide if he was worthy to follow, thiolier went on a journey for st. trina going against miquella's wish, the hornsent was still looking for his vengeance. After the seal breaks 80% of the crew still chooses to follow miquella, ansbach exceptionally leaves to avenge his former master mogh and thiolier leaves ONLY because st trinas asks him to. Every one under the spell could do whatever they want, unless it doesnt revolve around violent behavior, killing etc. In our world there's prisons, life sentences and death row for those who murderers and rapxists. Miquella solves that by taking people's will to do abhorrent things. If you really think that people should have the right to kill, rapxe or murder YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, you have have a problem. EVERY ONE was coexisting pacifically in Eiphael besides their different races and stories of ostracism and persecution. The exploding soldiers were weaklings that would sacrifice themselves to defend their land and God. The more natural interpretation is that they decided to start blowing themselves up in their desperation, hence the final sentence. The “bitter revelation” would be their decision that they should start sacrificing themselves to protect the Haligtree, blowing up was a necessary strategy, that’s also how it works in gameplay. They don’t just explode if you immediately kill them, they have to actually activate the explosion.

While I heavily disagree with Miquella's views, an Ending like this would go a long way to help contextualize Ranni's Ending, as Miquella's dialogue is extremely similar to Ranni's in Age of Stars, and yet these two characters couldn't be more ideologically opposed Miquella is all about Love and Compassion, but he's willing to brainwash people and deprive them of their free will if they so much as dare to defy him Ranni is all about Free Will and Self Determination, and she's willing to create a World devoid of Divine Comfort, unlike Miquella she refuses to comfort the world with the knowledge they have a God watching over them, she instead wants the world to choose their own path, free of the tyranny imposed by Gods What makes this especially compelling is one simple fact, Miquella's Compassion is nothing more than Sophistry, he abandoned St Trina, he figuratively and literally abandoned his Love, the defining core of his own Ideology and a central pillar of his very Identity, and cast it away into an Underground Mass Grave never to see the light of Day again, Miquella's Compassion is hollow and meaningless without St Trina, and he KNOWS that, the Miquella Cross we find at the Stone Coffin Fissure literally says "I abandon here my Love" so there's no fucking way he doesn't realize what he's done, he literally discarded the meaningfulness of his own Ideology the same way one might discard a piece of trash Ranni, unsurprisingly, doesn't do that shit because she's not an idiot

But he ascended because we followed the script...Ranni also could have been discarded and wouldn't start the Age of the Stars if we didn't choose her. It's a whole debate on morals, from the FF to the Duskborn, and Miquella deserved to have his own ending and not be rushed (offering to be his consort since his beliefs go against Ranni : that's more fair to people).

Mogh was the master mind of a satanist group responsible for blood sacrifices concentration camps. He was the ony person miquella discarted. Unlike Ranni, he didnt screw over everyone else to promote himself. He litterally walked the bodshiwata road and his main attack is Shiva's main gesture. Marika betrayed, killed and outcated races, abandoned partners and friends, sons and Ranni is the empirean who looks like her the most, she willingly murders her half brother for a chance at personal freedom and condemns most of the Lands Between in the process. Its excplicity explained that miquella went to the lands of shadow to repair his families sins. Since he was a kid, he has been colecting more deeds than any character in all fromsoftware games.
