There was actually a carrier pigeon who was decorated with military awards in WWI. A troop of soldiers were pinned down by friendly artillery behind enemy lines and they sent a carrier pigeon to deliver instructions to HQ. That pigeon was shot down by Germans, but got back up and flew the 25 miles back to HQ, saving the lives of about 200 soldiers. Cher Ami was her name.

11:16 Mad respects for Chrome and Kaseki. They have little to no knowledge of technology from before the 21st century, and yet, with a little inspiration, they're able to recreate something without being told what it is and what it can do. The water wheel is a perfect example of how brilliant and clever they can be.

messenger birds are actually quite simple. all you do is set up two locations with food and manually moves the bird between the two areas showing them where the food is. then you simply remove the food in one location so that they go to the other one. do this a few times and before you know it your birds are ready to send letters.

Thing with Dr. Stone, it's pretty scientificly accurate. I'd say it's 10% billion accurate. But the only unrealistic thing here is the luck Senku has- although everything is legit and would work irl, you'd need incredible luck. (Magnet for example, the lighting just happened to hit that metal bar. Or having certain minerals around him.)

Major plot hole... we don't mind though, do we?
@CrownofMischief3 жыл бұрын
I mean if you think about it another way, its weird that the stuff isn't just lying around. Like at the time of the catastrophe, there were millions of cars, computers, and other appliances. While the base things would be destroyed, the minerals would remain at the surface, albeit deteriorated considerably. Therefore you wouldn't even have to mine the things like we normally do, just finding the site of a former electronic warehouse or jeweler would give a tone of buried resources and precious metals

The thing with carrier pigeons is that they only fly home, so you have to carry them with you then release them to wherever you raised them, so the communication only works in one direction.

Children today have no reason to fail the sciences. They have it so easy! Dr. Stone at least makes science interesting to the point that you could research further what parts you like. All we had back then was ROYGBIV and a bloody triangular prism (still passed though! "Yeah! Science, bitch!" Jessie Pinkman). Easy question: Everyone has access to some touch interface device. How do touch-screens work?
@xdragoonzero02 жыл бұрын
I know this is a 2 year old question, but it depends on which type of touch screen. Smartphones use capacitive touch screens that use your fingers as a way to alter electrical currents to detect the touch location. This is also why other physical contact won't necessarily "touch" the screen (like when wearing gloves). Stuff like the Nintendo DS use what is effectively a laser grid through glass and when the glass is warped slightly enough that the beams are broken around the deformity. The screen uses the altered lasers to pin point the touch location on the grid.
@unclelink2 жыл бұрын
@@xdragoonzero0 thanks for taking the time to answer after so long. I almost forgot why I asked that question in the first place. It was basically to find out whether or not people were technologically illiterate. I wasn't trying to be offensive or anything but it was a term I came across while watching an episode of Stargate SG 1 and The Matrix: Reloaded. It described people who use tech but have no idea how or why it works so in the event it's lost or broken they can't fix or rebuild it. Thanks again. We aren't completely lost.

How does one explain what a meme is to someone who has no knowledge of the internet or pop culture?
