Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition - Vortigern | Hard Playthrough

This is part of my new and improved Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition campaign playthrough on hard. We have a whole host of new scenarios!
Vortigern is an absolute nightmare on hard, and yet so much fun! Trying to get the achievement on hard difficulty was too difficult for me, so I played it through on Standard afterwards to get the achievement in the end. I highly recommend not playing this mission on anything below Moderate difficulty, as the mission is either extremely easy, or somewhat bugged on Standard.

Se que hablas inglés pero un comentario latino aparece xD es bueno que haya presencia de comentarios en español jaja Eres lo mejor, este DLC fue muy criticado, no obstante, me divertí con las campañas, siendo esta: Vortigern, la más difícil que he jugado (hasta el momento), luego de 15 intentos lo logré terminar en modo Difícil, a comparación de tu estrategia, lo que yo hice, fue destruir todas las cabañas de los enemigos azules (Piets) reclutando 3 veces a los Sajones, mientras sacaba aldeanos a lo loco, luego me protegí solamente con arqueros donde está la maravilla, pero tu, TU!! Eres aun mejor, lograste completarlo teniendo a todos tus enemigos, ShadowCrystallux, es bueno tenerte aquí, que compartas tus conocimientos y nos muestres el camino hacia la verdadera estrategia, te queremos mucho y yo también, saludos desde México :D

Nice! Do you have tips for the "recruiting Saxons 12 times" achievement, in easy mode? Hope you will release Charlemagne soon!

Hey there! You can put your Saxon recruited units into control groups and delete them just before the AI will take control of them, that way you can do the 12 recruits quite easily, utilise the army as long as you need it and just before they betray you, you're able to remove the entire army that they would get from you :) Not quite sure when Charlemagne will be released, I might be able to have it released next week!

So far I've been really enjoying them 😊 14 of them are in the mods section, they just have small updates and voice acting in the DLC so if you wanted to try a few before buying I'd recommend doing that!

The only explaination is that you have a nerfed version there... in the non nerfed you have no chance doing this on hard and not going in offence

They seem to have mangled up the difficulty differences, on moderate is hard as all hell but on standard your just sitting around doing basically nothing. Finally did it on moderate the trick seems to be kill the picks with the saxon army and camp there while the gales and franks offload their troops north of the wall (usualy), make full upgrade knights asap then upgrade to cavilier you need about 40-60 to survive *and* kill the saxons.

This goes to show how shite it is on xbox. You click on the wonder and clearly the crown comes up where you recruit that guy at at the start. On Xbox you can’t find it anywhere it’s so broken no menus work. I click on the wonder and I can’t do anything after that
