Little bit late but anyone having the same question: there is a smart selection tickbox in the option, if you turn it on, it makes it ignore settlers when drag-boxing, unless there are only settlers in the box

Great video! I just started playing this game and have a couple questions: 1. What's the right setting so you can see all your queued pop and loading upgrades? (bottom left, above the map) 2. How do you instant click and get 5 units? For example, it looks like you click onces, and 5 musk start loading. 3. You're able to select two barracks or stables at onces? So both start going? (I always click one barrack and then 5x Musk, and then go to the next barrack. (really un-efficient)

1. Here is a picture of my settings gyazo.com/0ebf20ca982227488c6537ad90e8b16e I show units training, gatherers per resource, game time, player score, and more You can get to setting my pressing options (under ui options on the top left tab). 2. Holding shift and then clicking the unit (or pressing their hotkey) starts training as 5 units per batch. You can change this hotkey in the options as well. For me "train 5 musketeers" it is set to Shift-E (as I put my fingers near QWER as a reliable setup). 3. I have barracks set to Q, and "select all barracks" set to Cntrl-Shift-Q. I believe the default hotkey is Cntrl-Shift-B. Additionally, when selecting one barracks, you can press tab to get to the next one if you wanted to train different unit types. Definitely go into hotkeys and explore (which you can also access from the menu under options). My best advice for a beginner is to learn how to use hotkeys efficiently. That made a massive improvement to my gameplay. Also, try to learn unit counters (ie light infantry beat heavy infantry which beat cavalry which beat light infantry (sorta rock papers scissors, but with exceptions to the rules).

Nice video. Not sure if VC is meta right now, but if you're planning on a real boom you probably want to send it either way. With 700 and 600 wood your eco, well, booms. I also think you aged way too slowly this game; Brits are awesome in colonial but they like to keep the enemy in colonial too, so I think the better option was to follow up in age quicker to get cannons out earlier. If you have 2k food and gold and you're still in colonial there just isn't any point, because if you were playing a real enemy, there's a good chance they would go Skirm/Goon and kite your army comp to death, eventually crushing it with the 2 falc pop.

The Steam Version does work, my friend has it. Make sure you launch it by right clicking on the complete collection, and then launch from The asian dynasties. make sure you have the CD key when it prompts for it (thought it may not ask after the first time).

why Is it better to pay 150 wood for a settler than 100 food? is it more than 1.5x faster to gather wood?

You are going to have to get houses anyways, and you can build houses faster than one villager comes out of your TC.

My British strategy for every game is basically just using the team housing card to get a shitload of free settlers and then kill them off once I get both the factory and the robber barons and use my superior resources on a near-200 men army and just steamroll my adversaries. Also don't forget to build a huge wall

12 musketers at 7,20 ? With anyone pr17 only you're dead bro this is too low. Think to create units during transition 2 to 3 too and maybe create a new fb can be cool.

Well, there is certainly room to build more units earlier, but I focused largely on economy. I am not the best British player around, but I'm certainly capable of massing units earlier. However, massing units earlier is not always the best strategy, and certainly not the only viable option. This is dependent on the opponents strategic decisions and build order. I can show you a more aggressive style build in the future, with other civs and British one day as well.
