Any amount of horsemen thrown in with your archers is useful against opposing archers. If they shoot them, they don't shoot your archers. And horsemen are 1.29 hp per resource spent in Feudal vs archers 1.00. And if they do shoot your archers, the horsemen can deal their 19 damage against archers, significantly more than archers do. Of course, you don't want to sent your horsemen in before your archers have engaged, otherwise he could kite your horsemen for a bit until your archers have caught up. Admittedly, adding horsemen that don't reach their target instead of more archers lowers your damage output. Then again, since they take longer killing the horses than your archers, your damage output doesn't decrease until they've killed all horsemen, so you'll break even.

11:00 14 archers + 5 (already damaged) horsemen vs 27 archers and a scout is 1720 vs 2200 resources. That is equivalent to almost 22 vs 28 archers. Would that be a better trade? I "Daut" it.

On the other hand, camel support seems useless if the enemy pushes to snipe your camels. Those are expensive, meaning much worse hp per resource than even the archers. So you only lower their dps by 20% (in Feudal, less later on) against your archers until they've moved into range of your camel. The more camels you put in, the worse the trade gets. For that effect you need to chose the military wing over others and research the tech.

Archers kite cavalry too easily. The speed should be adjusted slightly between the two units

@@houndofzeus Archers don't kite archers easily though - which is the important part of the archer+horsemen combo. Once your archers are trading shots, commit the cav and don't pull them back just because they get targeted. If their archers try to kite your horsemen, your archers get free shots against them in the meantime. But I agree a slight speed boost to horsemen would really help them out in their anti-ranged role.

Hey random question here. If they release a turtle civ do you think there should be a gate landmark that you can connect to stone walls and work as a gate? Like it's a bigger opening(size of 1 1/2 or 2 normal gates) and offers turtle perks.

There's allready turtle civs , English is a turtle civ , it has flexibility to attack but it's very easy to defend with.

I believe that's right. Mongols have horticulture too so it wouldn't make sense if it was only farms.

I honestly do not understand why they are so fixated on doing full archer when they can't push back the other one do the same. Every time i encounter someone doing full archer i just throw at them a mass of man at arm and it's GG since they do at most 2 damage/arrow. It's not even that expensive to switch from archer to man at arm ...

I think they can adjust the game so that it resembles real historical tactics. Make cavalry hard to dis-engage from because once you are flanked or out maneuvered you can't just micro your way out of it, make archers attack an area instead of a unit making it harder to focus fire. I believe this way the game has a chance to eclipse all other rts game not just be one of many.
