Nice matchup to see! Landsknecht mass is always a mistake. Was expecting preemptive Springalds to come out from the HRE, as this Abbasid composition was perfect. Also, isn't it nice to watch an age 3 battle? No bombard spam. Ahh, beautiful!

Was hoping for some more crossbows and camel archer to completely shut down any HRE answer, but with this kind of eco advantage you can bum rush it with maa only I guess. Nice to see that blackwidow didn't build a single farm and relied on taking berries all over the map instead.

landsknecht are strong, but nyancat did a big oopsie in using them: firstly, they want front liners as their armor is lower, secondly, their power is initial aoe attack, like fire lancers, so going for mangenels and then attacking without charge just makes them worse men at arms, just having springald to kill mangonels and using charge to oblieterate men at arms would change the outcome of this game abbasid did well with initial disengage as it made charge attack meaningless, so HRE at this point should have backed to base to build up forces

Just in case you would actually want try to pronounce Landsknecht. You can slightly pause between lands/knecht. To adjust your tongue since the 'kne' isn't familiar. So Lands - just like you say it in english, except pronounce the 'a' as you would in 'fAlling'. LAnds. Drop the K hammer. It comes abruptly and clearly. Directly followed by necht. And the 'ch' is what everyone makes fun of german for. Sounds like an angry cat. Chhhhh. Not sh/sch. Its throaty but can be quite soft. Quick T to end it off. LAndsKnechht. That's my best attempt at explaining it. Good luck. Either way, you'll have me laughing in your next video. ✌️You're doing some awesome gamecasts

think Abbasid should get cheaper fishing boats instead of docks. Also, one more landmark, idc if it doesn't do anything, its just hard when you only have 2 life lines and you can't even hide you house of wisdom cuz of the golden age, and I swear the Camel Archer is broke and way overpriced. The being able to build any sige in the field really don't matter, its still full price and depending can take longer to build then just have 3 or 4 workshops.

Field building siege is incredibly powerful. Siege are very slow, so field construction helps overcome that weakness

drives me nuts to see pros not stone wall. Theres only 3 spots he has to wall and it only costs 60+60+120, thats 240 less than a TC and ur completely secure till they build seige. By then you're able to build and actually benefit off of triple tc

Re Landsknecht, drop the K sound. Pretend the letter isn't there. Also Land instead of L + and, it's more like L + ahnd (think British "and" vs Aussie "and"). The "ch" is pronounced closer to an "sh", but it's sort of half way between the two. That's the tricky bit. DW though, drop the K and change the "land" and you're 90% of the way there

Mass infantry was a huge misplay, all he had to do was massing crossbows, getting like 2 3 springalds, the knights in the back vs siege was fine too. Just goes to show, landsknecht is amazingly useless and underpowered. It's supposed to counter mass infantry and it can't.

He lacked wood so hard. And all he got he had to spend on farms cause he was out of food. Nyan should go for imp instead of super-useless knights. Idk why he went for them instead of 11-11:30 imperial when he had 3 relics secured. He could spamm vills and he could have enough wood for some other combinations... Abbasid did one misstake with going for military wing(didnt use a single tech from jt) instead of culture wing to get all upgrades with discount

Doesn't work without numbers. Abbasid maa can just run at the springalds while mangonels blow up the crossbows. Also, he already teched spears and can just switch instantly.

So, you're likely trading 3 springalds vs 2 mangonels while your opponent has a massively better eco and can just rebuild in the field. Doesn't sound like a good deal to me even if you can make it work. I think he lost the game the moment he didn't stone wall up and play for imperial. No way he can hold the Abbasid castle age push on that kind of eco disadvantage.

dang, been playing Abbasid a lot lately and thought 2 TC by 9 minutes was decent but 3 seems greedy, especially for how little he scouted. I did not see any military until 10 minutes, a more aggressive HRE, France, Mongols, or English could have severely punished that. Still, if you can get away with it- not sure what could beat it except a lot of siege and crossbows which HRE by going heavy into farms did not have enough wood to do here.

You are indeed correct. It's not about the Abbasid's MAA being strong. The HRE player lost mainly because he failed to punish a super greedy opponent. And after the Abbasid player has already built up a massive economy, any army comp will work, not just MAAs.

the fact that we can run straight to siege and torch it down ignoring the front line and still hold is bugging me... abbasid could get it up back again at the spot.. but imagine the frustration of players who cant... its just annoying...

siege is insanely powerful, every time he killed the mangonels his infantry was already weakened and killed by mostly untouched opponents infantery HRE maa and landsknecht counter enemy infantery, mangonels were only a bit impactful because he always had at least 2 or 3, they are intended to counter enemy ranged units and maybe spears, not maa abasid was brute forcing it with insane boom behind this which always works if you manage to get map control

Landsknecht have aoe damage, they eat those man at arms like breakfast. But it's a low hp unit after all, if they get shot by mangonels it's gg. NYANCAT could have held with some spingalds poteintially.

Can you cast with fog off until they fix the Fog bug, I hate watching these because of it but loved watching the winter cast you guys did without fog. I don't mind you turning it on now and then to see who can see what but 80%-90% should be full view. I want to keep track on the mini map what people are doing when you jump away its really annoying. Makes me not able to watch more than like half your videos before it makes me click off. where I watched 100% of the EGCTV casts.
