Great game, but what killed hera was the overgreed and lack of mangonel counters (springalds or more cav). He already had an extra tc compared to GUA so in most scenarios he whould have the villager lead, and with a military lead and an age up all he had to do was hold until his upgrades and numbers came in and he whould roll over GUA. If he made the Red Palace instead of the College of Artillery and garrison some vils inside he whould hold the position and force GUA to make trebs Better anti siege whould also help, those mangonels demolished his archers Edit: Yeah thats how you use Berkshire palace, massive range and firepower when upgraded, combined with +50% atk speed from network of castles and its treb or nothing

During the beta i thought that English were bottom tier civ because they didn't have many unique units and most of their Landmarks are meh compared to other civs, but man, once they get an important position and turtle the hell out of it, they win the game so easily, unique units or not

Is it just me or Castle Age feels a bit too short on AoE4? It seems like there are rarely ever any of those moments (of which there were plenty on AoE2) when a single well placed castle makes a significant strategic difference... And then it would take a while before the players could go Imp and eventually treb or shoot the castle down with cannons

yeah here you can make trebs in age 3, and all but english castles are unable to make any unit at all, the only upgrades you have are the weapon emplacements or some unique techs, which generaly aren't as powerful/game changing than aoe2 unique techs or unique units

Why do English players not realize that they can fit 10 farms instead of 8 in the influence area

Placing those 10 farms requires substantially more time that is better spent on doing other things. By going with 8 you can just keep shift-clicking on the mill and it does all by itself. Saving 12.5 wood once (!!! - remember, it's one mill you save for 4 mills with 10 farms) is just really not worth it.

Hera's ban on Twitch is complete bullshit. Twitch should be banned from the gaming community. And compared to AoE2 Mangonels feel pretty weak. A single upgraded AoE2 Mango can just oneshot groups of archers. You don't need 3 Mangos like in AoE4.
