Age of Empires Definitive Edition: Classic Mode Random Map

Age of Empires from 1997 is my second most played game of my childhood. So I decided to play a random map in classic mode on the Definitive Edition.
I wanted this to be a quick 30 minute game but ended up being 47 minutes long. But did better then I thought as I decided to finally get really aggressive with collecting resources and surviving because the A.I in this game cheats like hell, even on the easiest difficulty.

Team 3: Brown & Orange - Yamato

P.S. This ended up being a really good game in the end, as the A.I didn't completely try to destroy my civilization as it had it's own trying to take itself out.

The problem with Classic Mode, is the pop limit for the cpu is still 50 so it’s virtually pointless to play. It’s too bad they didn’t try to do a bit more with classic mode like walking through farms, better path finding etc.

Thanks you, now I see that I'm not the only one trying to build a city that looks pretty and organized! (my friends crushed me at lan parties) Only thing I wished they kept was the old interface too if you went classic graphics, miss the colours on the portraits.

Yeah you should be able to zoom in and see the pixels if you like, there is also real time upscaling and interpolation so no real reason to not do it

Can I play this on default intel iris graphics card? Will it be sufficient or slow or not supported?

2.4ghz i5 CPU and Nvidia GTX 650 which I think is 1gb of video memory. I think Intel iris might run it but it might be slow.

I really want to know what is different about our Age of Empires Definitive Edition. Why is it that when I run the game editor to make a map myself, I choose the scenario game in the encounter, check the classic game, and it still looks like the definitive edition?

I wish you could choose classic mode for the whole game, scenario editor, campaigns, random map and death match also give the option to have the classic UI interface from 1997 to give the game the classic look. That would be a much better option.
