@@ericnawamusic Divine armor just reduce your attack to one. That's why in theory if you can attack faster than archimonds regen then you can kill him. Try attacking a divine armored hero and you will see it gets damage by one but regens it quickly which all divine armored units have.

Most memorable mission ever. I failed it soooooo many times back in the days. The human base was destroyed so fast, I only could watch helplessly as they died. I was overwhelmed in the end and only couple brave souls stood against the might of Archimonde and threw their life points against him to delay. It was my most epic win I still remember to this day.

I went to the patretta center last January and went down their bullet slide. I had just bought new swimming trunks which were VERY slick. For those wondering, Archimonde's stats aren't actually so insane, he just has the armor type makes him only take close to 1 point of damage from all attacks types that aren't chaos. This mission has no chaos damage available, but if Human Arthas with the Frostmourne (chaos damage) and his divine shield were present, he could have solo'd Archimonde in a few minutes without getting hit once.

Divine shield is 45 seconds, and that leaves 15 seconds before he can use it again. Archimondes SPELLS are quite insane, mass infernals and finger of death(1000dmg to creatures). I dont think Arthas would win, but he certainly would be able to fuck him up more than a 100 Taurens ever could

I killed Cenarius without going to the fel fountain first. I didn't even know going to the fel was so important, so I decided to make an attack on the bottom Night Elf base. Little did I know that Cenarius is going to skip the fel thing completely and cross the river to launch a full-scale assault. I had like 150 watch towers in my base and barely managed to kill him. Don't know how because he can only be killed with chaos type of attack, so it kinda sucks. Developers didn't think that through really. Yes, it was really hard, but obviously not impossible to kill him without chaos attack. If I was a developer, I would give some special reward for people who manage to finish the mission in an unorthodox way, by killing the enemy earlier or destroying the base. I would give them some shout-out, some special icon, some unique code that they can use to purchase something, I don't know... I also remember the mission with Thrall, "Countdown to Extinction" where I had to survive for 20 minutes I think, and then I destroyed all of her bases, cleared the entire map of everything, and still had to wait for the time to run out. It kinda sucks.

Devine armor doesn't make the character completly immune to non-chaos attacks, Devine armor just absorbs like 95% of the damage, plus Archimonde has stupidly high armor stat so he takes about 50% of the damage les because of it as well. It all combined makes him take like only about 2.5% of the entire damage which makes you deal about 1 hit point with even the strongests of attacks which he quickly regenerates... To kill him you need to absolutely spam him to death as you did with Cenarius, this much dps makes it so he can't heal himself fast-enough making killing him possible

couldn't they have patched this? there are so many ways. personally, I'd have Archi say some vengeful words when he gets killed, then return in the cutscene with an "I told you." And Furion is like "the demon is indeed hard to kill, but not impossible."

Also fun to kill Cenarius with normal orcs. Videos I see of other people doing it is a whole bunch of towers. Personally I just surrounded him with peons, a whole lot of witch doctors to stun lock, and a few shamans to bloodlust my peons. I figured since all damage is reduced to one peons have more DPS against Cenarius than grunts do. Took awhile to kill him.

The primary objective of that mission is to kill Cenarius. Drinking the tainted well is only a secondary objective. So technically it isn't required to drink the blood to complete the mission, but it makes it a lot easier.

It is quite hard since Cenarius will go " Orc stop touching my night elves" each time you get closer to any base, so in my case i decided to literally vanquish every base and then leave him forever alone [then killing him] , to do this distract him with mirror images , so he'llbe furstrated once he realized ya took down one of the bases

Cenarius is divine. A chaos attacks only deal a large amount of damage to Cenarius so if you use ordinary orcs, its very hard even if you had an 100 army of max taurens

I know near the late WC3 patches all creeps level 5 or 7 + had chaos attack. I remember that change and in this level a tavern top left had those to recruit. So after w/e patch that was you could get like 5-10 of them by the end of the level and kill him with them. Well if your safe.

GJ. A lack of progamming did this "weird" ending. 1)Final cutscene should start when timer hit zero,or Archi is defeated (with cheats or not). 2)Script should "revive" unit before final cutscene.

I've seen two others. The first guy built a ton of bolt throwers and kited Archimonde at the site of the (destroyed) Alliance base for a long time. The second built a ring of ancient protectors around Archimonde, then uprooted them all at once and swarmed him. It's amazing to see so many different ways of doing the "impossible"!

I remember I cheated Tyrande's stats to ridiculous thousands a dozen years ago and killed Archimondes, but he was as static as a building! As to why the undead has stopped attacking - the enemies spawned are not created via trigger, but actually are built in the barracks, etc. So when you get rid of the main structure that is capable of building acolytes, and acolytes themselves - the AI cannot mine gold and thus cannot build units. As a bonus, when there are no acolytes, the enemy cannot rebuild the structures. Blizzard actually had done pretty well on this mission, imo.

Because , he destroyed the dark cathedral and slaughter houses .... And the waves could reach the mass to strike , the script has a mass to the wave move foward , but he destroyed and the Ai don't have any comand to rebuild ..... In.this mission the Ai is not ready to been attacked just to strike ! The summons cant go without the units (.food minimal of 40)

thx for the video! never thought of getting through the gate with tp xD cool. and never thought and tried this way killing archimonde. i completed this map around a dozen times and my best achievement was to keep a few buildings of Jaina survive. though after the 2nd try i was able to keep thrall's base alive (totally avoiding building NE units, only protectors+furbolgs+shadowtrolls).

Did it as well but way easier. You can simply do not let undead expand to the human base by destroying it with Hyppo and archers at the beginning. Then Archimonde is just stuck there and doesn't move further, then you can kill him from distance with Glaive Throwers. After killing it he appears again if you destroy orc base :P
