In the original conqueror when I was a young boy I would build wall along the entire Coast line then just use galleys, fireship to defend lmao this guy make it even better

It's crazy how micro is important in this game. I tried playing it yesterday, and on the first run my fleet was erased making me to resign :) On the second run I managed to lose only 2 ships and executed the rest similar to your record. Haven't looked at the timer though I barely was able to get close to timings, the goal was just to finish it on Hard not wasting too much time :D

Yes i remember early game micro is important for first big battle. Early elite cannon galleon tech is key against BBT. I used to wait for first 5 mins before massing ships. btw really well played. Just recently few hours ago i saw Chazb did beat your run with new record of 13:53.

Hello again! Thank you! I had barely slept in 3 days before this so there were a lot of mistakes. I just thought I'd get more than a couple weeks before someone tried it 😆 Just watched Chaz and his is the same other than dry dock and avoiding the mistakes I made, so I'll see if that tech feels worthwhile. Probably won't be for a while though as I'm moving next week.

i think your eco was balanced pretty well but noticed a lot of overkill on some of the bombard towers and docks. you could optimize your ships better and have the fast fires finish off transports while you transport your own rams and onagers earlier. id like to see a TAS or a fully optimized run which can be used to inspire better real runs

@@ekim613 Yeah, I didn’t expect this run to get so much attention. I’d barely slept for 3 days and forgotten to press record for some 14m times. I was so tired I just took this one, uploaded and moved on 😂 Runs like the Hastings run are much more precise. There are lot of ways to improve this. Even just taking the fight immediately without the extra 3 cannons would be good. Landing earlier, spreading ships in smaller groups. A lot. I don’t think I’d ever want to go as far as TAS though. Age speedrunning is pretty niche 😂

At least u also recognize other improvements, you may have to make them if someone else does too ;) As far as TAS goes, I consider them the ideal benchmark of theorycrafting. Like pausing the game at one second and setting all the initial commands immediately; vils/ships/techs etc Good luck on future runs mate 👍

Getting the wonder up isn’t required to win the scenario but it’s definitely more fun to defend it as intended. I only did it this way because it’s faster to break the speedrun record. Thanks for watching 🫡
