Interesting that they already had part of AOC - expansion ost ready by the time of releasing AOK demo. I always thought expansion soundtrack was created later as it gave me stronger age of mythology vibes.

sounds almost like Asian Gamelan music, in a lot of parts. I prefer the aoe1 MIDI which sounds better and has some of its own music, but this isn't bad either

Me too. But you can add it to the soundtrack if you place an MP3 file into the music folder (the path is Age2HD esources\_common\sound\music) You just have to rename the mp3 into xmusicXX (XX=The song in the soundtrack, if you name it xmusic23 it will be played as the 23th song)

Microsoft's Midi sound table are just horrible, but with Vista Midi and some midi sound emulator like Virtual Midi you can improve midis on recent Windows versions.
