Thank you so much for featuring this Norman! It is great that we live in a time when independent toy creators can make things like this that are on-par with the big toy companies. These are really great toys, especially for the price. The detail and articulation are what really brought me in. I sincerely hope this encourages enough backers to reach the goal!

@Mentocthemindtaker4 жыл бұрын
@是我 Ah yes, spend $100+ on a figure only to have it broken by your child who doesn't know any better? You must be a very rich eastern parent that you can just throw money away like that.
@Mentocthemindtaker4 жыл бұрын
@是我 Yes, I absolutely do buy them their own toys. But that's not what my original comment was about. I said I don't let them play with most of _my_ toys. They have their own toys to play with and break, but I don't spend hundreds of dollars on those toys; the children don't care how much they're worth.
@Mentocthemindtaker4 жыл бұрын
@是我 I completely agree! Which is why they get an allowance, which allows them to buy their own items that cost more than what I might buy them. That way, if they break, they understand that if they want a replacement then they need to spend their own money. _Giving_ them expensive toys that they may break teaches them nothing. Especially if they break them and then give them another at no cost to them. That teaches them that it doesn't matter if they break, because they'll just be replaced. Only an irresponsible parent would do that.

Sadly I can't see this making iot's funding. Its an example of way to niche and way to high a base goal. I don't think the goal is unreasonable, but it requires mass market appeal, and sadly, the nature of his KS video is... niche. That video applies to collectors and the geeks out there, and thats reflected by what he's raised. Had he got someone to produce a video worthy of his world, even with still images, a little flavor and atmosphere, I think he would have reached his goal... but as his video feels like someone talking about a model railway... sadly... nothing in it appeals to the more casual kind of buyer, you need if you want to make 400K euro funding goal and then start hitting stretch goals. Shame, because these are awesome...
@vipermark74 жыл бұрын
I agree. Such a beautiful set of designs. Six days left to go and less than half the required amount. It's such a shame it hasn't been promoted to a wider audience as it would have been great to see these out in the wild.
@neilgooge4 жыл бұрын
@@vipermark7 Yeah for sure. I think it really goes to show how far good supporting material goes on a kickstarter and setting that realistic initial goal on your project. This really would have benefitted from some flavor and law in the video, not just a technical mannual on the bits. Something like that weta workshop big mech game. And I have no doubt these things are expensive to produce, but at that funding goal, he was clearly trying to produce a retail quantity, passed the kickstarter fullfilment... which meant... he hasn't even made his funding goal. And if thats what he wanted, the loop goes back too... it needs some flavor. Really is a shame. Hopefully he'll give it a second shot with an adjusted approach, as I do think he can get these made.
@neilgooge4 жыл бұрын
@是我 Yeah for sure. I didn't end up backing this, I'm just not a toy collector. But had this been model kits, I very likely would have... I hope he gives it another shot with a new approach... they were very cool.
