You may not want to put down the Gold Mine from Thors God Power right away. If you have enough gold in the area for that time being, save it. It gives more gold if used in later ages. I think its 500/1000/3000/6000 respectively as you advance

First mission and he already forgets that villagers cant repair buildings. Also the Fenris Wolves gain extra attack and movement speed if there are a lot of them, they're incredibly scary when massed like that.Also worth remembering that you can turn villagers into ulfsarks immediatly, that does cost as much as recruiting one from scratch however. It can be useful if you really need the military then and fast, or want to build something but have nothing but villagers around.

Note well: 1: the dwarven mine is bigger every next age (so make only in last age if you can). 2: Hersirs are stronger every age (like pharaoh) and it's for free, so don't send them to death at first age. 3: You can eat wolves (each gives 100 food) and even hunted animals gives favor (but myths units don't give favors when you kill with them: they don't worship themselves). 4: the dwarven foundry can make tech from next age (very useful here because you can't go in last age) and even unique last tech, fited for gods. Awesome for men rush. 5: yes, pig sticker, gives almost kill in one shot for hunters (like aoe2 goths unique free bonus). Overall, norse figures as you can see with units, vikings but also, franks, teutons and goths, all germanic tribes with specific cultures (even in fighting way) coming from Scandinavia at the origin (they are all tall blond with blue eyes and pale skin to resist to polar winter and gain UV more easily for D vitamin and strong bones). 6: Walkiries not only fight: they heal like monks and priests: f awesome! Grouped with jarls, is unbeatable force, fast and strong against everything, healed after every battle. It's the ultimate norse final crushing army for me (imagine frankish paladins grouped with missionaries who can fight even). And remember that jarls are kind of heroes too (they have anti monsters bonus, and also awesome anti piercing armor), in fact they are the lords of the norse, traditionaly gaining power by force or election by warriors for their ability in warfare. 7: throwing axemen ( ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Throwing_Axeman_(Age_of_Mythology) ) are the best anti-infantry (it is not that champion ulfsarks are weak, they are weak only against them), huskarls, anti archers and ulfsarks (in fact berserkers) are anti cav. 8: Einherjar (the dead warriors in combat) got same power as Arkantos: they give more power to units around with their horn.

*Huskarls and Throwing Axemen cost wood+gold like archers. *Ballistae is equally devastating against both units and buildings. *Longboats have attack bonus vs. buildings. *Hersirs gather favor even when they don't fight. *Hunting doesn't give favor for the food gathered. Killing the animals which you hunt gives favor. *Jarls aren't heroes. Myth unit special attacks work on them. Jarls simply have attack bonus vs. myth units.

Under the assumption you do not know yet: The gold mine you can summon gets more gold if you summon it in later ages. Archaic Age 500g Classical Age 1000g Heroic Age 3000g Mythic Age 6000g but of course you can use it early on, because it can be gathered faster and speeds up the economy a bit ...

Random Norse stuff. Personally, I like Valkyries more than the healing spring, as they make strong and fast scouts that also heal allies like priests do. Trolls are good in numbers and the healing spring is better for playing on the defensive, sure. It's a difficult choice between the lot of them. I would always go Valkyrie or Troll compared to Einherjar though. Hersir are backbone troops. You want a lot of them at all times to speed up your favor gain. Please don't forget that your infantry build your structures and repair them. I know you will. Also, because you need infantry to build, you should always have infantry. Make more troops for the love of god Viper, then you won't be shocked when the enemy attacks you. Stop rushing town centers you don't need yet you spread your forces too thin... Fenris Wolf Brood are a Mythic Age myth unit that gets immensely more powerful in a group. This is why you build a military. VIPER BUILD A MILITARY OH MY GOD YOU BUILT TWO BUILDINGS TOTAL BEFORE YOU GOT FIMBULWINTERED. You don't need so many ox carts. Oh my lord he keeps building Hammartrolls even when he has no infantry to build with... I'm losing my mind.

13:27 is because Fenris Wolves' attack multiplies when they're in a pack. The larger the pack, the larger the bonus (although there must be a cut-off point but idk).

The limit is actually already reached with a pack of 6. They gain 15% extra attack and movement speed per wolf nearby, up to a maximum of 75% in a pack of 6 total wolves. Imagine if it was actually unlimited and you had 30 of those..... oh god.

Yes, you should always make units before techs. Except armory techs aren't as crucial as in aoe2 but still if you're fighting heavily it's good to get them early.

The Einherjar do an AOE chip damage with their horn. It's not very strong. Battle Boars vs Frost Giants is a tough choice imo. Frost Giants can take single enemies out of the fight, and are quite tanky, but Battle Boars are fast, attack fast, have an AOE launching attack that disrupts enemy armies for easy pickings, and do well vs buildings. I do like Frost better than Flaming Weapons. Lastly, while Trolls may be slow, they have a strong ranged attack and (i think) have the highest range of all Norse units. Plus, they regenerate on their own. But for your unit composition I really would have gone for Valkyries.

Thor has a special armory that gives you a fourth set of basic improves. With that, your main heroes (Arkantos etc...) will go up to 72% armor if I remember correctly, which is pretty great ! Still if I remember it right, you can build this armory sooner and research the upgrades sooner as well.

Viper i hope you will read this comment Ulfsarks are not really bad, if you choose gods who benefit infantry, ulfsarks, hersirs etc. you get very strong infantry in late-mid and late-game. For example there is "berserkergang" upgrade. Armory upgrade+champion infantry+god bonuses= 180 HP ulfsarks in last age, with considerable durability. They fight longer so you can get favor faster, spam myth units faster. Hersirs are golden and you can go gods which benefits them too. Hersir ulfsark and throwing axemen make very strong mix You can go for cavalry line and valkyrie+jarls become strong,Mobile, self-healing fortress Lol idk why im lecturing best age of empires player in the world but i like watching your videos man. The key part when I play this game is to age up as soon as possible. Archaic age is just $h!t in AoM because you cannot do anything other than building up an economy. Also, in almost all campaigns, playing defensively is not a bad way.
