Aoe2 multiplayer was miles ahead tho. The town center system in aom together with the hard pop cap makes every game a stance still until somebody gets an advantage, and then it's full snowball. But the single player if aom will be in my heart forever

They might, given AoE 2's success. But if they do, two things I persobally want: 1- *redo the entirety of the Tale of the Dragon campaign!* The maps, the textures, even the stories could use a lot of tweaks and improvement. 2 - maybe 1 or 2 new Civilizations with their Myth Units and God Powers, maybe Persians or Babylonians. This one is tough, though, because a lot of their aspects were already incorporated into either the Greeks or the Egyptians.

This cutscene is one of my top on every video game ever. I myself had created many mythology and war scenarios in Editor.. That game was the First in my gaming career that explained to me on every aspect what Editor means in gaming. I don't play this game since many years now.. I see only videos of it. But I can tell you if you like Bannerlord with mods of course I can show a nice video relevant to Age of Mythology and other Fantasies in.. Check my channel if you want and take a shot about these.. I Love that the Intro Portrays the "Backstory" and the hint of Poseidon being the Bad Guy. The Intro Shows the war between the olympians and the Titans in a way. Kronos gets defeated by Zeus and is locked in the tartaros. Then the Temple gets Destroyed, Arkantos gets helped by Athena and flees. But poseidons Trident falls and nearly Hits him. That was on purpose. He wanted Arkantos to die. The Main campaign in this Game was called "The Fall of the Trident" (at least thats the direct translation from German). It is all shown in the intro, but you only ever realize that after you beat the campaign.

Honestly looking at this intro, I think the mechanic that the Atlanteans have for their Heroic units was either prototyped and shown in the intro, or was inspired by the intro, because literally, human units getting decimated by Myth units, only for them to get a blessing from the gods, and then charge right in and destroy the Myth Units.

Not just because Age of mythology has all that magic, mysticism, and monsters, no it's the mortal characters as well, very well acted and written. (for an OLD rts that is..) I love the idea of *certain badass mortals* (heck, even quite a few not so "BA" but still great characters would be sweet too) being blessed with awsome strength and powers by gods and spirits alike that fight for land, treasures, honor, glory, and holding back the tides of chaos when the need arises, with vast armies comprising valiant soldiers, beasts, mythical creatures, mechanical constructs, and other assorted units at their command in the ever shifting fields of battle and conquest! So Lately it's made me wonder if Age of mythology could make a major comback! (I think a decent number of people still play it though) This theoretical game could be in the form of an GM run mmorpg. (I've also never actually played any GM mmorpgs) Kinda like "second life", meets AOM, preferably with no set classes and more like an assortment of professions, skills, trades, and yes "archetypes" (as in which gods are your chosen patrons) and "favors", as in what gods have chosen to smile apone you. *ex.* Say you've chosen *Athena as your primary patron* of sowing because you what to specialize in cloth making, but you've gained *the favor of Poseidon* because your aquatic designs appeal to him! This could mean that while a Athena may help you progress faster in the art of sowing, Poseidon may show his favor by planting you an enchanted olive tree, with its olives you could make olive oil of impeccable quality to which you could use to supplement income as well as but more thread for your craft. With such blessings you could soon have your name know throughout (mythical) Greece and maybe beyond in other lands, expand your business, *ofcourse just as you can gain the gods favor you could also lose it* so remember to show the gods proper respect and they shall reward you. That said the gods themselves can be fickle at times, prone to mood swings, *even gods can have bad days* were they don't want to be bothered... Anyway, enough about just gods, I'd also love the idea of practically all mortals posing "divine qualities", yes you heard it right *contrary to what most think of as "traditional" fantasy worlds-were magic is this rare thing only a few can do-in classical mythologies you didn't have to be a specified "caster" of some capacity in order to do cool stuff,* rather each person had their set of natural talents or *"inate magic" they could do, to which they could refine over a lifetime.* Then there's the mythical creatures themselves, mortals could regularly converse with or interact with this beings, even fight them, infact in many stories great families, royal bloodlines and the like would even trace their ancestry to some of these mythical creatures. (a means of explaining why they're in charge, divine right, etc.) That's all of the ideas I've got so far, but I just love mythology and hope someday soon that massive multiplayer online games that are based around real world mythologies become a reality!
