Age of mythology was a hugely important part of my childhood, it is what helped me become a big fan of history and archaeology. I played the game for so many hours. After I beat the campaigns I would "play dolls" with the villagers by building each of them a house and giving them a mythical beast to defend them lol! I was obsessed with the amazing myth units and the MUSIC IS TIMELESS! I am so so happy, I'm tearing up from joy! Thank you thank you thank you!!

It's the best far better than AoE 2 which has always felt very generic to me but that is probably due to the time frame it is set in that does not allow for much depth in gameplay. AoM had a very simple but yet quite diverse gameplay and esthetic depending on the civilization and god you'd choose. To me this remaster will be what AoE IV should have been centered around antiquity which is a much richer period than the middle age. AoE should really go back to antiquity and I'm super happy they'll finally do it

@@monfortnicolas5448 Although I like AoM better, I find AoE II more interesting simply because of balance. AoM is a very unbalanced game, if you're playing with other people. Some gods and units just outright demolish everything else. But hopefully we get balance patches which make multiplayer competitively interesting.

I hope for only one thing. That this is made with the same enthusiasm and energy as was AoM made. The gods, the cutscenes, the story and the music, oh the music. Timeless. Everything falls into place with AoM. The music complements the gods, the units complement the music, the buildings complements the gods, the atmosphere, user interface and SFX sounds, everything works together effortlessly as if it were all held together by a single string. Please do not let this be another AoM: Extended Edition failure, which the development seems to have been driven purely out of greed for profit. Do it for the players, and you surely will never have to worry about another cent. Please pin this to the top so it gets noticed by the game devs!

Remakes can be great, take Age of empires 2 DE, Resident evil and command and conquer remastered as great examples. 1 of those being one of the games ensamble studio made originally in the late 1990's.

I remember making custom games on the map where everyone starts on a plateau (Acropolis?) and slowly creeping myself out with walls and towers while sending lil' strike forces of myth and siege units on any bots that annoyed me, or better funneling two of their armies together and watching them kill each other while I pelted them with (un)holy amounts of myth units. The games lasted hours, if I ever completed them at all. That and so much time spent reading the in-game help/wiki on all the mythoi. So many fond memories... I'm so excited

I played this nonstop when I was 8 doing the campaign over and over using cheats because I wasn't very good at the game, but loving it and discovering and falling in love with mythology.

I was like 6-7-ish when we went shopping with my family to a local Tesco and just picked a random game out of the hundreds of DVDs in the crate, not knowing what it is, not having a single care in the world. The game was so awesome we bought more and every one of us played together, it stayed in the family for years, but sadly we have no idea where the DVDs are now the game was Age of Mythology. I don't know if it's just me or anything else, but the cinematic at the end of the original campaign where Arkantos destroys the Poseidon statue seemed to be....weightless? I'm not sure if that's the best description, but it lacked oomph in a way imo, which is weird since that's Uber Arkantos at maximum power.

When I was in 3rd/4th grade, I was in class where our topic for the next week or so was about mythology that’s follows the Greeks and Egypt. I answered all questions from the teacher and my classmates asked me how I know so much. So the next day I showed the game disk plus manual and guide that showed the small history of each God. That whole month was the best thanks to Age of mythology.

I've played this game since I was little. My friend's father always used to play this along with other old strategy games. From then on, I've grown to love the game, and everything it has to offer. Of all the AOE series games Age of Mythology got my interest so hard that for 14 years I never stopped playing the game. I played the Campaign over and over again yet I never felt bored. I remember when i was a kid, i played Age of mythology and the titans expansión, i never ended the campaign of the original one sadly, i was stucked in that level where you start with two little bases and you have to cross to the other side before the enemy founded something that were mining, i never remembered what it was, but still this game gave me so much joy. Even though i don't remember the names of the levels, i remember almost every part of what i played, the invasion of the start, fighting with the horde of horses in gold to save a pal, the troyan horse, saving your soldiers from the cruel re invasion that destroyed the home while you were out, man what a story.

I am so curious what myths and pantheons they introduce. AOM was a big part of my inspiration for mythology and I wanna know what other myths will get a light shon on them.

This game has probably had more impact on my life than anything else. Its because of this game that I fell in love with history and mythology, and its because of this game (also Indiana Jones) that I became an Archaeologist. I really hope that they will do this game justice with this remake and I am so incredibly excited to play it again.

Always wondered what Atlantis and the underworld would look like in HD during the cinematic scenes! Hopefully they do it well! This game got me interested in Greek mythology and was the first and the only strategy game as a kid! After Ensemble Studios shut down, I thought the series is would be gone forever. Thank you for bringing this back Microsoft! Oh and of course, PROSTAGMA!?!

I had to go through a 3.5 hour documentary to figure this even exists, but I am none the less so excited! I can't wait to see more and hopefully next time it won't take half a year for me to find out!

I can't remember if my first rts game was age of empires or age of mythology but still all of these games will hold a special place in my heart. Seeing this almost made me cry.

My father showed me this game when i was 5years old and i was allowed to watch him play and play the campain. I experienced the start of the game, the titans expansion, the closed servers, the private server hamachi matches, the new steam relase and the chinese dc. As a young boy i loved the campaign with the story of the mythology. I ofthen closed the game after the start video and watched it again because i liked the starting video so much :) When i got older i enjoyed the multyplayer, competed with oder players in teams, or fought hard 1v1 matched in rankeds. In my mid age my friends and me ofthen met an did lan partys competing in this game. Even if i never managed to reach the top players i enjoyed every minute of playing this game and i defently can say that this game and the story it tells was a part of my childhood and is still a part of my life. I tried every other AoE game, and even if they are good i always went back to Mythology. The story it tells and the way it feels to play are outstanding. I love to hear it official that there will be a new mythology part. This will be a game changer to the modern RTS world and a blessing to all old fans like me who never stoped believing it will come some day. ty for this good news they made my day :)
