it wasnt one single invention as is alluded to, nor was it a reaction to the hundred years war small treated leather strips put under maille or inside padding turned to metal ones which eventually overlapped and became better quality in the form of brigandine, plate knee and elbow caps started seeing use in the 1230s and splinted plate saw more use some time later brigandine wasnt common mans plate (it sorta depends on time and place) but having your padded layer thicker was common for gambesons, leather treated in wine+salt or boiled could add further protection if added, jackchains and limited maille (skirts, collars, mittens) was common, both cheaper versions of vambraces or full hauberks

Thanks for 25 years of AoE2. A nice surprise would be to fix the shift+click bug with groups of (siege) units that only do the first command. Please! On a side note, I bought Battle for Greece thinking I could play the new civs in unranked multiplayer, only to find out it's not possible, even though you specifically mentioned they wouldn't be playable in ranked(?).

@ageofempires need new civs in ranked games. Campaigns aren't much fun after playing ranked games buddy. I will play double of recent dlc if new civs are there in ranked games.

I know that aoe II is way more popular then III, but it's just not fair that there is no update for III DE, for more then a year!😢

My one and only wish is that they add a Romanian civilisation. There already is a Romanian campaign.
