Great game! I think one of the mistakes early game was taking close fights near enemy base when they have a lot of automatons. They get all that army back if you loose.

28:39 little feature that might help in this situation: if you build a market in the corner for a trade route, you can also build a market in your main base next to your tc from which to train the caravans. Theyll jump on the nearby tc first and then go to the far market, basically skipping the first half of their first trip. Just a small way to get them to pay themselves of sooner

I have no idea how you held on but this was an enjoyable game to watch! Shout out to the jellyfish putting in work.. Please take everything I say with a grain of salt as I didn't play EE, but from an AoM/AoT perspective, the answer to "what counters mass turma?" was "mass turma". lol. Raiding with Turma then supporting with Katapeltes on pushes dominated everything from every civ in the Classical Age (and further if you are Egyptian). As you assumed Murmillo would do well as a general melee unit vs a "counter archer", none of the other melee did well either and they can just dip if a fight looks unfavourable. There are counters, but you have to be ahead in age and sometimes take "weaker" minor gods for specific techs you otherwise would not, at which point they can switch. I will say that already the devs have made changes to techs that never happened in AoT (such as with slingers) so it'll never be as bad as it was back then.. hopefully. Atlantean was everywhere in mid rated games because the simpler eco let players focus on other parts of the game. I will say the changes to hesperides tree and chaos are crazy to me. Chaos is obviously busted, but having 2 casts for free, 2 dryads for free, cost wood instead of with the easy favour generation... nuts

Implode is actually pretty decent now. Manged to use it as a coup-de-grace yesterday and it wiped out farms, houses, and vills all in one go and badly damaged everything esle

I think probably its the ability to repair the automatons which was insane in the early game there. Just Never losing any units and you losing a few just keeps adding up over time

Great game! I love AoM so mich more than AoE exactly because of those kind of games. I love that Titans exist basically to end stalemates. Its a really smart and fun mechanic imo.

I wonder if it would've been better to plop down something like a manor or even economic guid in the middle, that lush would slowly heal your soldiers generating free value, and the extra speed helps too.

It was probably the mix of having a tanky frontline supported by any kind of ranged unit that made it strong. I think the automatons are a bit larger than murmillos as well, so less of them can make a wider frontline (which is bad for dps but good for... making a wider front).

Great game! Would it have been worth crawling some lush into the choke during the stalemate and get the upgrade? It wouldn't have made a big diff but he wouldn't have been able to take out the eco guilds to push it back during the fighting I was zerg in SC2, it feels like there would be value just like pushing creep

They're fast and ranged, with good micro you can kite very well. Murmillo have 4.5 base speed, and Turma is 5.5. Just never let his Murmillo reach them, and once you've amassed enough, you can just kill one target per volley

17 minutes in so far, just got a question. is there any reason to why you are not making counterunits for the automatons? just a few Cheiroballista that you turn into heroes should help a lot or am i wrong? And would it not be worth building a economic guild just for the lush between the woodlines? getting that tiny amount of regen + movementspeed for when engagements happen could make the difference.

I don't know how much it would have changed the game but you never picked up Arrows of the Alfar at the edge of your base. That extra building attack wouldn't have hurt.

If you wanna go pro, you should learn all the gods right away, just play all random, or one faction at a time. If your goal is to just push for top 100 and "have fun", pick one that you enjoy playing and get good :)

Im not even close about ur skill when i strugle even vs ai so correcting you as me is werid xD but u should build one manor near start of ur base when u fight quite often in that place u will get speed and 2 hp regen for ur murmilo on these short breaks fights on ur lush

Before the titans has only 7k, but much more armor !! 90/95% Now hp goes down really fast, so for me it feels about the same as before.
