I'm glad you mentioned the ogre thing cus honestly my first thought upon hearing about this lad was, "There needs to be a 'Gorgers of Slaanesh' army that's a mix of humans and ogres and chaos giants who are all driven by an ever growing need to not just eat, but to explore the extremes of flavor through acts of profoundly messed up consumption. Like this dude deserves his own sub group of Hedonites who include corrupted ogres who represent the less ascetically pleasing and more raw lusts that drive humans to excesses in areas other then the arts and carnal pleasure.

I can imagine him making an Ogor-like Turduckin style dish. A grot stuffed inside a squig stuffed in an Ogor all sprinkled with the ur-gold of fyreslayers and peppered with with strips of fish meat from an Idoneth war mount. All with the cool refreshing drink of nighthaunt ectoplasm inside the skull of a ossiarch bonereaper. Also he's giving off Jabba the Hutt fused with Hedonismbot vibes

This is why I liked villains like Ahriman compared to Lucius. There is more to that villain, beyond an evil ass hole. Glutos's back story is just unfortunate circumstances until he chose to cross the moral event horizon. That's what the dark gods do best when twisting a new champion to their will.

I like we got to explore Slanesh more with this character. Like Slanesh is not god of sex. She is god of excess. And there are many forms of it. It breaks the monotomy of Slanesh, and maby will make people realise more that sex is not the only thing he is about Allso yours idea of detective story i just soo good!

I, too, have a huge crush on this guy, as soon as I saw his model I knew that we were meant to be 😅 I've never been interested in Slaaneshi stuff (I'm asexual, so the uber-sexual models didn't appeal to me) but he has opened the door for me to explore that side of Chaos stuff I've got together a Chaos force in model form that act as his own personal guard, bedecked in golden armour (I like the aesthetic of the 'bad guys' wearing gold). Their General is Glutos, but the guy who ostensibly runs the show is the sword-wielding dude on the palanquin. He's not a die-hard follower, he's in it more for the personal glory, but the other General (the Lord on Karadrak from the Start Collecting box) is a hopelessly-devoted worshipper of Slaanesh and Glutos by extension, seeing him as the embodiment of Slaanesh's excess in the Mortal Realms. Instead of following the Path to Glory for his own ends, he travels it to get closer to Glutos, to bask in his depraved glory

@Mr Jayboo I would say wait until later this month when the white dwarf update for the faction comes out. I'm not going to lie, it's in a very rough spot right now competitively that's just gotten worse over the last year. The new white dwarf may radically change that or it may do nothing, we don't know yet. There's also a points adjustment down the road with the new ghb :D. All that being said, if you're playing casually for flavor, I'd say do it. Slaanesh has one of the best, if not the best, model ranges out of anything in Sigmar and some really solid lore if you're a fan of chaos.

I'll echo everyone else in the comments: I'm so glad we have some variance from just the lust and bodily perfection aspect of Slaanesh, bring on more gluttony and avarice! The shorthand and memes of "Slaanesh = boobies" has really gotten grating and I've only been in the hobby for like 3 years

Yeah AoS did a good job displaying what Slaanesh embodies in models, vain perfectionists, seekers of indulgence, basically they could be into the carnal pleasures but anything that brings excess joy or pain or grandeur is something that really embodies this particular chaos God and it shows in the faction models

I loved fantasy battles and played as a kid. Fell in love with the Greasus Goldtooth model. Never owned it but seeing this gave me the same feel and ultimately sparked my interest to collect slaanesh in aos. Even cooler now I know a little more, thanks!

Am I retesting thought you provoked, the champions in his entourage actually reinforce the prison he’s in. As he is trapped on a path of always seeking the next experience, yes the other champions benefit from following him but they also have an invested interest in keeping him eating as well. Should he have ever been able to muster the will to quit on Slaanesh, I don’t think his champions would ever let him because they reap the rewards from his curse. Anyway, great series of videos, I’ve discovered you only yesterday and I’m this far in your Broken Realms vids. Excellent work, looking forward to what else you have, and thank you!

My headcanon is that all the chaos gods feed each other in some way, and Slaanesh is no exception. Khornate obsession with perfecting their bloodletting and collecting their skulls directly feed into Slaanesh. In an ironic way, Khorne himself, Slaanesh’s rival god, empowers Slaanesh with his excess and obsessive collection of bones, skull and blood.
