Age of Sigmar Lore: The Dispossessed

I hope Dispossessed stay around and one day get love like their Night Goblin/Moonclan rivals. Plastic Duardin Rangers and new Artillery like a revisited Flame Cannon would be amazing. KO and Fyreslayers are neat, but traditional Dwarfs are a personal favorite. I spent a ton of time growing up playing Dwarf Fortress, and I love the stubborn little beardlings. My big fear with CoS is that they are just a stopgap to appease old fans. The lack of terrain or new models scares me. I want my traditional beards to stay around for the future.

I LOVE the old Dwarves too its definitely a bigger love there, im 100% with you on them bringing back old school artillery. I very very muchd islike the K.O but the Fyreslayers are cool. Just doesn't hit the same niche with me as completely ironclad stocky dwarves with giant artillery weapons lol

Book of grudges still exist. The Kharadron Battletome mentions how the Barak-Thyrng Duardin still honor this ancient tradition.

I would love it if they got there own book, but I like the idea of the CoS book where you can play with the strength of each sub-faction. I play fyreslayers but I may start playing city’s just due to the uniqueness of army.

I really like cross-race factions. Most fantasy settings and fiction use a variety of different races in their character cast, so its nice to be able to represent that in a TT game.

Hey Doug, Long time viewer but never commented before. Just felt the need to tell you that your videos finally got me interested in the AoS-lore. I came into the hobby kind of recently through the total war games. Loved the Druchii and threw myself into the darkblade books. So I was kind of bummed out when I got to know that the old world ended. As I got into the painting and playing part of the hobby (mostly underworlds and warcry as of late) I tried to get into the lore and never could, until I found this channel. Also it's refreshing to finally get a positive Presentation of aos and its lore. I maybe didn't find the 'right' channels before, but usually they got some kind "fantasy was so much better/its so stupid now" vibes. In general I hate all that butt-hurtness in terms of fantasy. I get that most people liked the old world better lore wise but I also think it's more fun getting to know the new stuff. So in short: thanks for getting me excited for AoS and it's lore and being an awesome youtuber! Keep up the good work!

The dwarfs are what got me into warhammer fantasy through their books that blacklibrary sold. I know I can use my discontinued models as a proxy but it isnt right, I had a slayer cult backed with some dwarf artillery and now I cant use either. I do not want fyreslayers, I dont like their lore. I do not see the dispossessed making a comeback as a separate faction unless they update the models that they discontinued. I do not see GW doing that, they are bent on making "new" factions/subfactions.

The old world is being brought back, though perhaps abit different, if you don't like the idea of changing what you've already built and the way it was thought out i would suggest to just hold on to them and wait to see if they have a better chance and place in that setting. and maybe pick something else for AOS.

Voskry I could see them updating models from Fantasy but not adding new ones. I mean they still have two whole realms to explore (Ulgu and Hysh) and fill out with factions. They are definitely going to be busy for the next few years.

I began Age of Sigmar with the Dispossessed, because they were cooler beefed up Lord of The Rings Dwarves. I had no clue that today (Its still my only army) they would be removing our rank and file clans-dwarves and souping us up with our sworn enemies. Surely they should get the support other factions do. I hope one day we might get the sort of treatment the Lumineth got. I sort of understand why GW would do this but... oh well. GW may or may not have entered my Book of Grudges. (Alongside the aelves i share a battletome with....)

Has it been explored what happens after someone from a different realm spends extended time on a different realm. For example a dispossessed from the realm of fire would be hot headed and quick to anger due to the effect of the realm on him so if that same dispossessed made it through the gates before they were closed off would he start changing or still have the qualities of someone from the realm of fire?

In the October White Dwarf there's a "40 facts about Age of Sigmar" article, and one of those facts mentions the possibility of the Fyreslayers and Kharadrons perhaps, eventually, unifying to pursue shared goals. This is probably just a bit of fluff, but it's possible GW is planting the seeds for another unified battletome like the Orruk Warclans one, where two (or more) duardin factions may be able to combine into one army. Don't know how likely it is to happen, but an intriguing idea...

I want them to have their own book. I have a bunch of Warriors, Quarrelers, Organ Guns, Flame Cannons, Miners and Slayers that would otherwise be collecting dust. I don't think that there is any hope for the latter three, but I may just have to keep using old warscrolls and the Dispossessed ablilties from the GH for now.

The Warhammer fans love Dwarfs, more specifically The Slayers. GW bring the Dwarf Slayers back give them armour, give them great ram chariots. Make Gotrek the great immortal Slayer King. Make Warhammer great again. The dispossessed is an unbecoming title of these heroes of lore. Bring back Warhammer fantasy and end this sham that has replaced it.

I think the Dispossessed models have a problem with their looks. Alongside the rubbish poses, their weapons look too big and their shields too small. Compare the models to any cool piece of Duardin art and you'll see what I mean...

Because it feels and looks lazy. What I liked the Sylvaneth, Fyreslayers, Kharadrons and Irodeth is that they are similar to those who came before but different. The Freeguilds are just recycled fantasy models that are there so GW doesn’t have to come up with new models *cough* Karl Franz ≠ Freeguild General *cough*
