Terrible. Combat is completely broken. Pvp now boils down to sprinting after ppl for 20mins then rolling a bunch until someone lags out and gets hit a few times.

I now run longer then my horse, feel like call of duty with the gummy c-4,it's obvious that they made it for a certain type of player who probably isn't old enough to play, I don't like to roll it's not a real fight, we should be able to block with all the weapons little or well depending on the weapon, a bit like dark souls, orb of nergal could fix the stamina problem in exchange of forces by choosing your shape, more ninja or more Hulk, that could be an idea,

I'm ps5 and had time to practice some PvP, arena 1v1 and official raids defence clan vs clans. This is only my opinion, 2H axes are still really really strong. Bow kids become a real nightmare, if you dont play last stand you just die in 3-4 shots. With rolling thrust you have infinite stamina. There are a lot of good points I must admit, I like the fact that legendary weapons are better than craftable again, I love the fact that memory bestial potion is a default recipe and easy craft, I like being able to clean every unnamed city bosses in 10 min, I like that goomba is deleted, for the other PvE aspect I dont really care. For me, they should move some perks in the attributs, maybe rethinking some. They should reduce the stamina regeneration that cause the infinite stamina, bring back the grey stamina malus if you have a bad stamina management, and to dont make it too hard, reduce a bit the cost in stamina for attacks, not same as before but find a way between before and now. For me what's making a better PvP player is his stamina management, and game knowledge + game cense, they completely deleted that...

combat looks a bit more like old vanilla with animation cancelling ^^ not sure if i like the changes to perma rolls.. takes abit of skill away i feel from a very deep stamina system before ... helps the farmers out there while getting ganked i guess

The sprint attack issues you had are probably part of the new change to combat. They implemented a thing where weapons can cancel attack animation if they arrive first when two people are attacking near simultaneously. Weight of the weapon is a factor for cancelling out your target's attack animation if your attack reaches first. Range on the spear seems to play well with that change from what I witnessed during your fights.

I don’t understand your build, I’m having tons of fun destroying alpha teams with experimental builds. The new stygian commander set is extremely OP otherwise I rock kurak leggings, spider climb boots, gloves of jhil, cannibal headress and chest +16% str; I get about 280-300+ stam with drunk stam buff, and extra 30% str with buffs; rocking a hanumans gada you deal 302 damage base and with rolling thrust it’s plus 35% AP which is basically broken atm because it has 57% AP already so 302 damage at 92% AP with rolling thrust

Yeah, the spear definitely cancels attacks it shouldn't in Age of War. It's so jarring, it has to be a bug.

Hey bro, I play Conan on PC. In terms of which is better, I would PC version is better for a few reasons: 1) Graphics are WAY better. Conan console graphics aren’t the best. 2) The game runs better on PC in terms of performance. 3) There’s a global chat which allows you to interact with others player much easier than having to msg them privately on console. I would say the only good about playing Conan on console is that there are less cheaters on console since it’s a bit more tricky for cheaters to apply their cheats on an Xbox/PS5. Hope that answers your question. :)

Glad you found the video helpful. :) Do keep in mind that all these battles took place within the few hours of the update going live. I haven’t done any PvP since, so I’m interested to see now if anything has changed.

Nice man! Good idea. Definitely take your time with the game. The early days of playing Conan are some of the most funnest times ever as you’re discovering and adventuring the game. The journey step system is a good way to learn a lot of the game mechanics, btw. Really good for new players. The black ice power leveling technique is good for more experienced players who have made the journey to level 60 many times already and just want to get there quickly and start playing end game. Have fun. :)

@@Zelosykes btw do you have any tips for “not climbing the walls” aka i keep trying to enter my home and i have to do a little jump to get in but the thing is, whenever i do my character climbs the doorframe.

@@Clever_Calcifer the danger of jumping close to any vertical surface in Conan. the climb needs a "hold" to activate. but it is a very short hold that triggers it. quick tap jump in Conan to jump, any longer and the game will consider that input a "climb". alternatively, put stairs in front of your front step. most of the stairs will be "underground"but there will be a couple attached to the step above ground.

They were really close to having the best combat in Conan ever. But the 0.1 stamina regen kick-in plus the regen speed itself just breaks the combat utterly.

I feel like the new stamina system works well for PvE… but for PvP, it just makes combat look/feel really silly with endless roll/attack spam.

@@Zelosykes I don't really like the combat for PVE either. I was a dagger player and now combat feels slow. I get a few hits in, then wait for stamina to regen, meanwhile the mobs are hitting me the whole time. I think Funcom screwed up with this change. Combat wasn't broken so why did they 'fix' it?

Great video, i want to say a few things about this update and the game mechanics. The changes are only minor changes but they do fix some of the issues. It was not what i was hoping for personally. I was hoping for what we got and more. Changing the combat so attacking does not stop movement and preventing animation canceling. The combat still looks like absolute desync hell combined with chaotic movement because of instant animation canceling. This still looks broken to me, i was hoping they would make something new and fun to try. This looks like a failed update to me.

The heavy stuff some of these guys carried with them. Stamina +7... If you re looking for a Heavy strength armor to try out this is the best set as far im aware (No Siptah stuff): - Helmet: Redeemed Legion - Chest: Voidforged Dragon (Gives more Strength % than Champion) - Arms: Godbreaker (Cheaper but less armor would be Pictish/Guardian) - Legs: Champion Leggings (Cheaper alternative same as above) - Feet: Pictish/Guardian Without the DLCs youd have to take hyperborean slaver parts for feet and both leg and arms alternatives. It has lass armor than the DLC parts thats why its not among best in slot.

So what i get from this is daggers are no longer viable, in PvE and light armor builds are pointless... cool now I just won't update my game. Now all anyone has to do against someone with daggers in PvP is being they're Thrall and even if the person using daggers has one aswell you will win 150% gaurnteed

Yep, I agree… the fast pace/non-stop poke and roll fights just look so goofy. I still try to use the spear like the pre-Age of War era, but once your opponent starts aggressively poking and rolling, you have no choice but to join them. Fire with fire.

the meta armor wasnt even the meta in age of sorcery except the chest because of khari overseer and kurak armoir pieces + age of war meta shifted more to heavy armor as long the stamina is fcked up like that :/ champion boots gives immunity to cripple btw

also 1v1 is not super likely. Either the opponents outnumber you, 1v2, 1v3, 1v4, etc, or you're in a pitched melee and it's team fighting. That is how it should have been tested.

I've heard that maxing grit/vit/expertise with full heavy armor is the new meta build now, and that strength/agility aren't needed anymore due to the attribute bonuses on gear being replaced by direct bonuses to what the attributes govern (2h damage, 1h damage, thrall damage, etc). There any truth to that, or do strength and agility still have a place in the meta?

In terms of PvP, I don’t think that’s very accurate. Since stamina regen is so fast now, there’s really no need for Grit. Strength/Agility/Vitality is definitely the way to go for a fighter build. As for Encumbrance, I’d go with Agility/Vitality/Expertise. There might be some unique builds out there using Grit, but I think the meta is staying with Str/Agi/Vit since you’re going to want the Rolling Thrust perk due to how costly attacks are now.

With your great axe in pvp i dont think youd notice much.. against a boss or npc you migjht notice you cant do as many combo moves

The Great Axe is not really a combo type of weapon for PvP. You mostly only use three attacks. 1) The sprint 2) 1st heavy attack 3) 2nd heavy attack. Even in PvE, I only ever use the 1st and 2nd heavy attack as well then roll out of the way and repeat.
