@@foxxeel7706 Ha! This still had some useful tips for how to start up - I just finished Vanguard/Promethean. The advice on how to expand carefully at the start and just to focus on security/growth was the key insight for me.

Hey. I noticed on I think your Vanguard Void playthrough you mentioned that Field Medicine was not worth it. I only ask as I recently picked up the game and am still trying to not get clobbered by the AI on a Hard Setting. Tried lots of different races, but I seem to be liking the Vanguard empire best.

Units heal for +6 hp after between turns. The field medicine is powerful for vanguard because it makes them heal the +6 hp after the battle. If you are good with your units, using the vanguards max range and have the tier 1 healing mod (on all your units early game, except scouts). You shouldn't have too many issues with needing the healing. However, vanguard don't have access to as many healing abilities with their units compared to every other race. So I would recommend using field medicine if you are still learning the game. Also that vanguard void game is on the previous dlc and I've learnd a lot since then. Vanguard is my fav race, tied with the new Shakarn race and void tech is my fav secret tech. I'll be making a new vanguard void play through soon but I am trying not to be bias and play other races.

Hey, really like your videos and builds. However, I am completely new to the game (and 4x in general) and most of your videos are too fast for me and hard to understand. So could you do another video like this one for the Trex patch (and maybe with a different race like the new Shakarn)? Would really appreciate a newb friendly guide 👍

Thank you for the feedback. I have been thinking of making a completely separate series to help new players or show the basics of AoW. That breaks down the game at a meta level so players can understand how to play any race as the races can play very differently. Is there anything specifically that you had in mind to be included?

@@foxxeel7706 General progression through the game and what to do at different stages in terms of resources and tech priority.. I personally would love to see race specific stuff with Kir'ko and Shakarn....since they are my fav races in terms of aesthetics (I like non-human races) But you're free to cover them as you go along 👍

The struggle is "General progression through the game and what to do at different stages in terms of resources and tech priority" works very differently depending on what race / strategy you play, the planet settings and planet itself. Different planets have different variations of resources tiles so your tech priorities different depending on which resource you prioritize. Food, energy, production, research or operations (stealing other players resources) all those in combination with doctrines. Which specific resource you choose also affects play style: whether you want early aggression, late game aggression, tech or diplomacy victory etc. Vice versa which play style can influence your resource priority. So from this alone perhaps a video where I explain what I've written above in more detail can help open the door to a more generalized video in the future? I know this doesn't immediately answer your question but I want to teach people how to think in the game not what to think specifically, as at higher difficulties you need to adapt to survive.

I think when you do you Shakarn playthrough, if you explain what you are doing and why...that itself will help a lot since we can learn your thought process with the new race and the game in general
