I see your concern, but TF2, at least at the start, existed in this very specific timeframe that it reveled in, especially in promotional materials and the context of it's world. As more and more hats were added, this pushed that farther and farther as people added wackier cosmetics. Is that such a bad thing? Honestly not really. It was more of an informed-trait than some solid, defined detail, and even with loads of goofy-ass cosmetics covering them the mercs still bleed personality and TF2 now occupies an aesthetics niche all it's own. So pardon me NOVA, it was more of wistful complaining than an honest criticism of TF2.

Ok I am not going to do a short snappy comment, let be describe my feelings here: This is Pixar level animation. Whoever created the models deserves an award, and I am not talking an in game reward. The animation is flawless, and the effort shines. It is clear that this is was a multi-year project, which is always a very big deal. The attention to detail is mind boggling; Look at the water drops and beer drops. I cannot name any other animator who can do that, besides maybe the Winglett. The lighting and sound design is flawless as well. Look at the guards at 1:10. Their movements are realistic and tangible. The animators clearly did not have a "its a cartoon, so it doesn't have to be perfect" mindset. They wanted this to be spot on. The emotions portrayed are also very real and properly timed. Fantastic work on this animation, to everybody involved. And send my gratitude over to that model maker because this was incredible. If this doesn't win best overall, I don't think I will ever be able to watch another Saxxy again.

Incredible. I love how you actually created characters that completely fit into the tf2 universe. Just an amazing piece overall, seriously feels like a high budget film company/group created this. The only feedback I have on this is that the sound design was seriously lacking during the fight scenes (ex. 1:40) The atmosphere was lacking something and did not give the needed high pressure, intense, life or death vibe of an action scene-- but other than that this is great work!

I disagree. In terms of sound design, the music being loud and drowning out the sound effects makes sense. Unlike the other bits of music in the animation, that song is actually playing in the animation's world. It makes sense that all the noise is different there than the other moments. Not to mention the long single shot is just absolutely fantastic. I'd say it's one of the best action scenes I've seen in a saxxy entry.

This is not only the best Saxxy entry I have ever seen, but the best SFM video I have ever seen PERIOD. I love the original character models.
