Omg I struggled for a month.. Tried everything... But after ur video I decided to switching from x264 (I have very low end PC) to QuickSync H-264 and it literally fixed the high cpu usage and the horrible lag I had. Now am even able to make my video higher quality without any lag..THANK YOU

I have a dell G15 i5 11th gen 24gb vram and rtx 3050 4gb, with a ultra wide 1440p monitor hooked up to it(for sim racing). for native on desktop it stands on 1440p in games i set it to1080p, other wise im at 30 to 40 fps in most games. On 1080p i get mostly in between 60 and 120fps. I noticed the system isn't using the integraded graphics at all. Is there any way to use this one for recording and streaming? The cpu usage is normally around 70% without recording and streaming. But it gets unplayable when i set it on x256.

Thanks! You can check my streaming setting videos as well. I go over the best settings for everyone really. You might have to use x264 instead of NVENC since I don't think it's supported on that GPU.

Is there any diff between setting output to MP4 or set MKV and auto remux to MP4 like u. In my laptop quality of x264 CBR 8,000 equal to QuickSync HEVC CQP 20 but quicksync one got smaller files, slower render and better cpu usage whereas x264 my cpu run so hard. sry about my eng

Always record to mkv and then remux to MP4. If anything happens, your mkv file won't get corrupted like the mp4 one will. I also recommend CQP more than CBR for recording

I dint know what going on why my obs lately. Every time i use the recording or replay buffer everytime i rewatch the videos i got like 1p fps. So i tried changing some of my setting and now its worse its litterally a powerpoint present. And it didnt used to do that idk what is wrong. I guess my computer just sucks

for some reason when i try to view the footage it says i need an "extension" to view HECV recordings and when i import it into my editing software it just says "MEDIA OFFLINE"

Your PC is bottlenecking. Lower some game settings or something so you maintain 60 fps.

I have followed the instructions on this and many other vids and experimented and I still get EXTREME lag while recording. I don't know how to fix so if you got suggestions let me know. Btw i use the Acer Aspire 5 laptop without any modifications

iI don't recomend to all viewers to use obs . I have i tried to use this obs so many times in different resoulation but it did not record gaming display capture very blurry , shakey, stucking and poor quality

That's COMPLETELY inaccurate. If you have a decent PC, you can record/stream and game at the same time without any issues, especially with the new technologies like NVENC and AV1.

But in lower end...Recording with high resolution and high quality and playing with high fps on the same pc... Okey,lets talk about nvenc 😂i think under gaming you cant set preset p5 or higher while gaming, without fps loss., if Its true, than recording quality loss.Think low end gpus, not rtx, as like as a gt 1050.A cheaper second hand old school pc or laptop for dedicated recording is a bit better choice i think. No lag, only fast gaming and quality recording. If i have a decent Dual Core 12 years old dedicated pc, i can recording in x264 placebo 720p 60 fps. Thats true. 😉

@@Agenterino In my interpretation, low end pc has a 10-15 years old 4 or 8 Core cpu, which equal a Ryzen 3 1200 or i7 7000 series, which is not suitable for gaming and recording with obs in 1080p at the same time.But if you have Quicksync igpu and a dedicated nvidia or AMD gpu, maybe Its possible. Recording via Quicksync, playing via nvidia/AMD. Only this way maybe works.

I have tried getting my recordings to not lag forever and it still doesn't work. I have watched many videos and followed instructions like this one and it still lags very badly (just sitting there I get around 50 fps and when I move in game it drops to like 15 and has huge lag spikes that make the video unwatchable. The game I am recording is Minecraft and I want to make SMP videos. I have the lowest possible settings on the game and many mods that help with fps. Can you think of anything that could help with these issues?
