+kelllsey12000 You'll hate this, but the best storyline I could think of is this: Fitz will do anything to make Jemma happy, even if it means that he has to give her up...so he steps back to allow Will and Jemma to be a couple. After he manages to open the portal and Will comes through, Fitz continues to dive into his work to take his mind off of his loss, as Will and Simmons rekindle their love affair. After a while, Fitz discovers that Will was not some sacrificial lamb, but a devoted Hydra agent with plans of harming Jemma and he goes off to confront him alone. Jemma and the other agents of Shield, discover that Fitz is missing and begin to look for him. Jemma learns the truth about Will going through Fitz's computer and Shield rushes to rescue him. When they arrive, we see that Fitz has been savagely beaten by Will and Ward. Coulson (or May) take out Will and Ward slips away. Simmons gently cradles Fitz's broken and beaten body it become apparent that Fitz has offered up one last sacrifice for Jemma as he breathes his last. I wish Agents of Shield would have the guts for such a storyline.

I remember watching the first episode thinking: "Oh no, not these kinds of annoying characters, please!" when they were introduced during their argument. It took me a while to figure out they weren't siblings (yes, despite of Fitz's accent and their names being their last names😅). But that already changed during the first episode and after this scene they quickly became my very favorite characters on the show, with so much more depth than in the beginning!
