In Horus Heresy, rules such as Preferred Enemy (X), which gives the attacker rerolls for 1s to hit and wound against a unit that is their preferred enemy, (Ex: Character, Independent Character, Psyker, etc) activate as long as one model in the unit meets the criteria, so I could definitely see it working similarly here.

mildly disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity Darktide offered to expand on the agents of the imperium as a faction, but hoooooolly emperor that Shieldbreaker Rule! I'd have been fine if it just blocked invul! I'm... unsure why he'd get smoke? Smoke is cover and/or -1 to hit him right? With Lone Operative AND Stealth that seems almost excessive, but I guess it makes sense as a panic button. As for the Retinue keyword, that has potential and I'm curious where it can go.

there are some very funny situations that can happen with vindicare. Like spiking double sixes to put out a casual d3+6 mortal wounds on a target. Or something weird like using shieldbreaker into a custodes squad, but still rolling the 6 to wound to deal mortals but now they actually take less damage than they would have before thanks to their FnP against mortals lol

I think it actually makes sense that Greyfax has higher leadership than Bobby G. Consider this, Greyfax doesn't give a damn thing about troops routing and people dying as long as the deed is done. Roboute is just a good father and when his beatiful, the bluest of blues smurfs start crumbling it would be difficult for him to keep not to call for a "tactical" retreat.

The only weird thing about it is we would expect to have our own detachment rules, and it would be odd if we do have our own detachment but don't get a preview. That said, if we are forced to use the crazy powerful Craftworld army and detachment rules then so be it, although I will be pretty disappointed if we don't get our own enhancements and stratagems.

A less elite infantry, like Harlequins in training, and maybe with a scout move. 2. Sylandri Veilwalker. Just about the only named Harlequin character, come on GW give us a unique character. 3. Great Harlequin/Avatar of Cegorach. Impossible amounts of trolling? Yes please, that is why I play Harlequins. 4. Wardens of the Black Library. These could be just about anything - some form of super creepy Aeldari wraith construct, a robed and hooded anti-psyker unit, take your pick. 5. A re-designed skathach wraithknight. These would need a slight ret-con to have a Harlequin bind it's soul to it in some other way, as Harlequins don't use spirit stones, but the webway abilities it has are a great fit and it would be nice to have a super heavy.

Adding in greyfax would give them devastating wounds on a 4 up, with both greyfax and a 10 man sisters squad it would average 6-7 mortals a turn directly on the unit leader, if you can get them in half range to rapid fire then they average 10 or more.

@@slamindorf5478 it currently is if you dealt damage and the model lived roll a d6 on a 3+ deal a mw, if it still lives roll again for another mw on a 4+, and keeps going if you keep succeeding increasing each time. Did it to a knight once, 3 bonus mws was exciting!

I think the consistency they gained from the damage increase and added damage on 6s to hit is nice, paired with the Devastating Wounds you can really dish out a lot of mortals, but I enjoyed the fun little rolling game, each roll getting progressively more tense. Still, I think overall I enjoy the changes! Although the huge hit to range does hurt me inside a little, I won’t lie.

The new vindicare brings a much better statline and I like the change to the pistol being a weaker triple shot. Things feel better but arguably healthier. If this is what they did for the vindicare I am super interested to see the other assassins!

As an admech fan i was kinda ok at first with skitarii having a 5+ save because i thought that all humans without Power armour (even thought skitarii have Power armour but oh well) would have been the same and humans (or abhumans) in good Power armour would have a 3+, basically leaving 4+ to basic Power armour units like tau, eldar or scions. But having a regular human with a bucket on Is head having Better armour than my cyborg it's total bullshit Also if space marine and sisters hits on a 3+ because the armour helps them aim, the dude with literally mechanical arms and eyes should also hit on a 3+

If It's only for balance purpose then you lose the RPG aspect of 40k, if you want to consider lore you have to admit that not only skitarii have better armour than a regular guard (or a random cultist) but they are also more though Since we are restricted by t4 marines the previous system was perfect, low thoughnes (like a regular human) but slightly better armour (yet not power armour)

My gut instinct on the character psychic keyword deal is that it won’t count for the whole unit - only the character. Basing this off the fact that most of the anti psyker stuff we’ve seen with Sisters of Silence and Greyfax have had precision to be able to snipe out the psychic character from the rest of the unit, even when the weapon doesn’t necessarily make sense with precision (like the bolt guns).

Actually I am fairly sure that it counts the whole unit precisely because of the rules for the Prosecutors: "Each time a model in this unit makes a ranged attack that targets a psyker unit, that attack has the precision and devastating wounds abilities." If the unit has to have the keyword, against the vast majority of non-KSons or Grey Knights units they would just, rules as written, not get their abilities, which would be stupid with precision. At least that is how i understand it. Edit: I also really wanna run Greyfax with 10 Prosecutors for really fucking up psykers, nevermind that that combo makes no sense lorewise.

the vindicare looks nutty, the shieldbreaker round can basically just 1 tap any character (outside like custodes and monster characters) REALLY easily, and if you save a cp reroll for it its basically garenteed, and even without the shieldbreaker its a nasty shot with good ap, any time your against a vindicare you have to be SO carefull with your characters cos if they are visible they are dead its got really good enti elite shooting as well tbh, even if theres no characters visible, thats still like a dead custodes bike or drukhari raider also bricky calling it correctly as an admech player i am malding HARD that my god damn aimbot cyborgs have worse armour and the same shooting as some random guy on a boat i genuinly just cant get over HOW bad the admech teaser was, everything in it was terrible

I don't think you actually can field an army of the agents since they don't have a detachment rule and that's a step of army mustering in the core rulebook.

You're damn right this AdMech player right here is going to mald and fucking seethe at Breachers. It's the one part of the AdMech preview that I dislike. Skitarii codex wise are supposed to be wearing Ceramite warplate, an AdMech equivalent to carapace, made from the material of power armour rather than armaplas. I really don't think it should have the same save values as flak armour, but here we are I suppose.
