This is an AGGRESSIVE CAT? My fractious cat would be seizing by the time she hears the clippers cut on! 😂😂

My cat must be savage. Because this kitty is pretty chilled for the most part. Good Job! He is beautiful!

You were just yanking on his mane when you stopped to calm him down 😂 He didn't seem to mind much, though

An overall nice, strong willed, a little stubborn and maybe a little bit extra scare-aggressive cat. He seems to trust you anyway, and like thinking "When will this shit be over?"

I'm very impressed with how strong and controlled you have handles this grooming....

The vet finally gave us some calm me down pills for our Norwegian Forest Tiger. The vet has done it before with her fully under following dental work but says her teeth are fine this year. Without a trim in early summer she is lethargic, even as a strictly indoor cat in air conditioning. Following her lion cut she is frisky and plays like a kitten. The pills seem to work ... we successfully trimmed her claws yesterday, previously a sure invitation for a bloodletting. Wish us luck.

Bless you and all groomers for having the patience for those of us with furbabies who act this way with you all. I swear, these types are usually super sweet otherwise! My boy is like this with grooming as well and it's absolutely awful and embarrassing. I can trim his claws and if needed get a quick bath done (Persian) but it's taken 8 yrs almost to get this point. He's always hated grooming, I think his skin is extra sensitive or ticklish and he hates being confined in any way. Otherwise, he's a perfect gentleman. My female cat is also a Persian, and the complete opposite. She's like clay in your hands and at most meows, nibbles, and swats with her tail when she's had enough. But she purrs away when combed, the boy never does. Idk why, it's just got to be a sensitivity and personality thing.

What the heck are you talking about? My cat would be going crazy and bouncing off the walls

Some of these groomers on KZbin talk about aggressive animals, when in fact the groomers are the ones that are aggressive. Cats don’t understand “ relax”.

My cat completely understands relax... as long as I don't scream at him, he is fine.

He's not real aggressive this cat, he's actually a very good boy

Oh what a cute little kitty! I wish you were in the UK as my longhair is the same, does not like being groomed at all so I just clip out wherever she gets matted and she falls out with me for a while 🤣

If that cat is aggressive I'd hate to see what you would call mine. Was he sedated?

I bought a oneisall clipper. Ate they any good and when you say "10 setting" what are you referring to and where are those located? Edit: Our cat is like this one. Hates being brushed and getting anything done like hails trimmed.

Nice job. You just groomed my cat (he is a tan with a touch of orange) identical with that exception. He isn’t a problem for groomers and has been going to them for years but for me? Yes, he’s a hellion. Lol. He also only likes to be brushed around his head, neck and part way down his back. Anything else is a fight. Their fur is unmanageable unless they love being brushed all over. So, we do this at least once a year.

PS. An eyebrow or eyelash comb works really well for getting the goobers out from facial folds! :)

Great job! This video is of great help. I have Doll Face Persian - and I'm getting better at grooming her. I've been indoctrinating her a little at a time. But this video is a great example of how, and where to trim. Thank you!
Cats may feel vulnerable, and the experience of being shaved can be traumatizing. Plus, their fur plays an important role in regulating body temperature, so shaved cats are susceptible to either being too hot or too cold. A pet's coat is designed by nature to keep it cool during the summer and warm in the winter. By shaving your pet you usually interfere with this built-in temperature regulation. Cats, in particular, are very good at regulating body temperature and really get no benefit from being shaved,Shaving a cat can lead to a high risk of sunburn and overheating from time spent sunning their bellies. Not only are sunburns painful to your cat's skin, but they create a risk factor for certain types of cancers like squamous cell carcinomas Cats comes from Africa originally, the coat is designed to protect their skin and body from the sun and the heat

When matted or worse pelted, the fur cannot autoregulate temperature properly, and actually can lead to overheating. In addition mats and worse pelted fur lead to skin infections and constant pain. For cats that do not allow regular grooming at home, regular shaves are actually the most humane way to keep their coat and skin healthy and clean.
