Hey Matt, I wanted to come to you with a question that I may sadly know the answer to. I was trying to breed 2 females 1 of which is proven 1 first time mom. Both are over 3 years and 2200 grams. I started pairing my 2 year unproven male in october and was seeing some girth being added and really thought id get eggs, had a shed on both and was seeing eggs in my dreams. Unfortunatly when the Texas winter storms hit we lost power for over a week and I have taking turns keeping snakes under my shirt with my mom and girlfriend just to keep them alive. I ended up losing my first 9 yo normal male in the storms and I haven't seen any more signs of eggs from my two girls. Would you think if they were gravid the clutches were reabsorbed do to the extreme weather? Really appreciate your thoughts on it if you can get around to it.

Maybe, maybe not. They may still start up and go. The storms could definitely cause a lost season, no doubt. I would approach this year with low expectations, but keep hope and keep working

Snakes will treat you, at best, as a pleasant coworker. No love. Mutual respect and understanding, but if you moved away (or they did, as is often the case), they'd probably forget you in a few days.

I see it as a bond of trust and mutual respect but I personally don’t think they feel emotions like love

As a defensive ball python? Yes, there is. Aggressive, no. Which was addressed in the original video. Title is a call back to that.
