Im usually not a superfan of predominately neutral overtones, but the denim blue with tan is really lovely and it is so nice that the guys didn't stray too far from the family's neutral overtones and casual theme. Loved the mix of modern and traditional and the cute window seat and extra spa bathroom was a nice addition. Very lovely transformation.

I like the stairs reconfigured. I'd tile or stone the entrance. The lads do good work. Thanks for not painting the fireplace but staining would be an option.I have different ideas for the kitchen, semi fitted and more wood. Ahhh, as long as they love the finished project. It's fun to see if my ideas are anything like theirs.

A significant design challenge is where to put a tv when the fireplace is a focal point in the living room. Given the objective was to have their children's friends over for entertaining, just disappointed they avoided the issue and left it to the homeowners to work out.

I love your work! You really nailed it for them by keeping it neutral and adding the washed blue tones in. My only issue was the fireplace with the white grout & dark brick is too Stark for me. I would've stained or painted the grout much darker so it doesn't stand our so much. The neon sign is hilarious in red & green, lol! Beautiful job

I don't care for the full bathroom on the main floor at all, imagine running through the house after a shower to go upstairs to get dressed. Very impractical.

is there really anybody so crazy out there to put a white carpet on stairs? Their designs look good, but sometimes are so unpractical but then when it's presentation time everything is nothing but beautiful and gorgeous.

Marble countertops, floors and backsplashes are beautiful but are extremely hard to maintain. You need to baby them to keep them good looking. I might not even buy a house that has a lot of marble in it.

My only criticism is painting the staircase woodwork, especially painting handrails white. They will be dirty in a week.

The neon light looks too cluttered in the corner in the living room. The neon's colors are subtle enough that it would avoid being overwhelming in the kitchen. The neon would have been a bright *moment* of kitschy fun on the pantry wall, nearer the sink. The kitchen's is is elegant but still could have carried the neon without overwhelming the design.

I always wonder how to interpret "This is not our house." If their taste is to hang two deer head trophies in the living room and preserve a wacky neon sign, then perhaps the understated elegance created by N&J here is a bit alienating.

Gina Crusco: Since nothing was put on the walls where the dear heads went, they can be replaced. They can be wired so the eyes light up s blue to match the decor (like a husky). Since the homeowners never mentioned them-and I would’ve thought the boys would, make they were leftovers from the previous owner. Or the last two wild dear with blue eyes in their neighborhood.

I hate that the full bathroom opens to the kitchen. Was there no place on the second floor to place it? Everything else is beautiful however

She H.: It’s a home where possibly there was only one bathroom on the second floor when it was designed. The reason the bathroom is “in the kitchen” is due to the plumbing from the kitchen. Many of the Indian Village neighborhood homes in Detroit are like that too. The original design did not include a first floor powder room. When one was added, it often replaced the butler’s pantry. Of course not a perfect layout but would you want to go running upstairs every time you had to “go”?

Ordinarily I like what they do, but in this house there’s something off in every room. In the living room, that sectional sofa, which confronts you as soon as you walk in, is way too big. And where is the television? Light fixture is cheugy and a pain to keep clean. When she said she wanted it to feel like her favorite pair of jeans she meant comfortable, not stonewashed blue denim everywhere. The dining room chairs are enormous and out of proportion with the room. The kitchen has no upper cabinets-why? That is such a mistake. I get wanting a first-floor bathroom, but I’d have done a half bath. Having a full bath on a floor that has zero bedrooms just feels weird. I’m glad they like it, but if it were my house I’d have preferred the before layout and decor (except the hideous wallpaper).

Hahaa, so agree. Huge living room and they completely removed the TV, even without leaving any place for it. In the full version they show after tapes and they put back a huge tv to the same place where used to be which means that corner with the neon light fully covered by the TV hahaha.

Buna Sunt Claudia din România și va scriu de pe pagina sotului meu. Imi place stilul vostru de amenajare👍👍👍 dar nu înțeleg de ce casele sunt făcute din lemn ca niște cabane de munte👎👎👎. Mai ales ca nu se fac cu fundație din beton și pereți mai rezistenți din cărămidă sau piatra. In zona voastră furtunile sunt puternice și cred ca de aceea sunt luate pe sus. In rest numai de bine.

Jack Montana: Yes, but ‘babe’, it’s “Nate and Jeremiah” and that’s about half the budget and the boys aren’t cheap, I would think, if I could. Should have gotten “Love it or List it” instead!! The homeowners got the wrong HGTV show!!
