Agios Nikolaos is a charming coastal city located in Eastern Crete, Greece. It is approximately an hour’s drive from the capital city of the island - Heraklion. The city has a population of around 15,000 people and is the 3rd largest city in Crete and also municipal centre of Lasithi region.
One of the must-see sights of the city is the spectacular Voulismeni Lake, a small saltwater lake in the center of Agios Nikolaos that is said to be bottomless according to local legend.
At the south part of Agios Nikolaos there is marina along which is path that offers walk with observation of ships of different kinds and sizes. The coast of Agios Nikolas is also surrounded by several beautiful beaches, including Almyros, Ammoudi and Kitroplatia, all of which offer crystal clear water and scenic views.
Agios Nikolaos is picturesque town that is beloved by locals and tourists alike for its stunning natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere.
