Can Metashape use camera raw files directly or do you need to convert them to TIF or JPEG first?

I would imagine that using raw files would take a lot more time to process because they're so much bigger. Increased processing times would be a big problem for most people who are already struggling with processing time.

I'm still new with Agisoft so it was very interesting for me to see this feature of the software. I think it would have been more meaningful if you had used images that you shot with your drone rather than manipulated in photoshop. You could have used different shutter speeds, altitudes, horizontal speed and lighting conditions which would have been more representative than the Photoshop editing. I've been watching all your videos and really appreciate the time you invested in making them.

Maybe a useful tipp for others as well, to get better image quality, use "exposure to the right" (look it up on wikipedia), or "high dynamic range". Your Images will have more details. Also shoot in RAW and then develop in JPEG format with 100% quality settings. The file size will be smaller compared to RAW but all the details will be still there. You can use DNG as well but the file size will be larger and processing time will increase.

Can you use photos that have been edited to increase the image quality with low contrast and increased sharpening to construct the 3D model, and then after the point cloud has been constructed replace thase edited photos with the original raw files?

Thanks so much for the info. I have some problems with dome effect in some projects. Metashape aligns photos with a big curvature. Has anyone figured out why? How can I solve this issue. Help is appreciated

When I upload my JPG images to metashape they look kind of blurry but the original ones on my pc look perfectly fine any idea why the program reduces the quality ?

a good video, thanks. Is there any way to export these values to txt or XML?

Thanks! By now there's no tool for exporting image quality but you can achieve it by python scripting. Hope this could help: www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=10061.0
