I did this along with tabs in solid walnut to create a card box for my daughter's wedding. It took some practice, but it turned out amazing.

The one handed sanding trick does work. I tried something a while ago that has worked great. I glued a sheet of 220 down to keep it from spinning. Has lasted me _months_ so far. It's on a bench hook (like a shooting board jig)Thanks for your insights as well!

Every time I watch content lately, whether it be 3-D printing, laser printers and CNC's I see people that are breaking through barriers. It gets me excited to enter this market. I don't see a link to your laser cutter, but I am guessing it's a high end model. I looked into your CNC and comparable desktop and Avid CNC is is a high price point. That said, do you have recommendations for both a Laser cutter and a beginner CNC? I've been doing research on CNC's and have been focusing on the Long Mill CNC. Another KZbinr has recommended Shapeko. I find the LongMill to be at a reasonable price point for someone starting out. Yet I am open to suggestions.

@AGlimpseInside interesting concept! Can you please explain how to do this without a laser? I certainly don't have one...

Thanks Chris. Not sure why, but now I am craving noodles for lunch.

Would you bother to apply a clear finish, or leave the wood bare? Almost seems like you can only spray, not brush?
@AGlimpseInside Жыл бұрын
Oh for sure a nice clearcoat would be great. And yeah I would use rattle can spray probably Matte

consider doing the same thing, cutting half way through. Might be nice for corners.

If I may suggest, please lower the music volume compared to the voice. I found the music nice, but a bit too loud.

Do not burn the broken hinges. Trim them down on the saw, and offer them up as a scrap bundle for do it your self project makers. Same for the plywood scrap squares. Many miniature project makers could put the wood to good use, and would be willing to buy a “grab bag/box” of cut pieces.
