Agnaldo Timóteo Pereira was born on October 16, 1936, in Caratinga, Minas Gerais.
His father, José Pereira, was a railway worker, and his mother, Carmelita Timóteo Pereira, was a housewife.
From a young age, Agnaldo showed an interest in music and began singing in church choirs.
In 1955, at the age of 19, Agnaldo Timóteo decided to go to Rio de Janeiro in search of opportunities in his musical career.
He began working as a crooner in nightclubs and bars in the city, and also performed on radio programs.
In 1960, Agnaldo Timóteo was invited to participate in the program "Calouros em Desfile", on TV Tupi.
He sang the song "Marina", by Dorival Caymmi, and won over the audience and the judges with his powerful and emotional voice. From there, his career took off.
His first big success came in 1961, with the song "Sábado no Morro", written in partnership with Geraldo Cunha.
The song ranked first on the charts and became a classic of Brazilian music.
In the following years, Agnaldo Timóteo recorded several other hits, such as "Meu Grito", "Ave Maria", "Os Verdes Campos da Minha Terra", "Mamãe Isso Tão Feliz" and "Acorrentados".
He also performed in shows throughout Brazil and became one of the most popular artists of the time.
In 1967, Agnaldo Timóteo went to TV Record and presented the program "Noites de Gala", which became a ratings success.
During this period, he released several successful albums and singles, such as "Canção da Volta", "Que Queres Tu de Mim", "Tudo Passará" and "Obrigado Querida".
In the 1970s and 1980s, Agnaldo Timóteo continued to record and perform successfully, but he also faced health and personal problems.
He had problems with drugs and alcohol, and was also in a car accident in 1981 that left him in a coma for 38 days.
In 1997, Agnaldo Timóteo released the album "A Força da Mulher", which was dedicated to women and became a sales success.
He continued to record and perform until his final days, and in 2020 he released the album "Obrigado, Cauby!", a tribute to singer Cauby Peixoto.

In March 2021, Agnaldo Timóteo passed away due to complications caused
