A political TOD should also be there for politicians where 25% will be selected based on their performance at ground level and the rest 75% should be struck off with 11 lac in their pockets after 5 years of their service in the state or central govt. This will save lots of money which will be used for infrastructure development. Politicians will after their political service will be provided with a certificate in human resource management which will be helpful for their job search.

Even though, don't you think that even if politicians go through agniveers then they will be patriotic and we need patriots in our politics instead of criminals ? Politicians from agnipath will be more disciplined and nation loving just like the govt and top army generals are expecting that agnipath will make youth disciplined and patriotic; and won't scam the country. So, yes politicians should also go through agnipath if there is no political TOD for them. Also, Indian army is a professional army they are not like the army of other countries they will never revolt against their own people. Their mindset is different from other armies.

You'll waste your precious 4 years for temporary employment and when 75% are dropped after 4 years GC will again have to compete in market but they would only be matric or at best 12th pass out. General Caste avoid this scheme and fight against it.

17 to 21 is also the prime age for higher education post intermediate, Agneepath scheme should include something related to it as well or else unemployment may increase once a soldier completes 4 years in noble service and enrollment rate in higher education may decrease drastically.

Agniveer is a good option for those who want serve in army for few years and learn discipline. But it can't replace permanent army man. I agree with your point but do you really think it is possible to bring reforms in Indian system in these days? Agricultural reforms were brought, we all know what happened. Government is planning to bring police reforms, judicial reforms, civil services reforms, IPC & CrPC amendments etc. Government is willing to do things but politics is a dirty pit dear. I still believe that government is not recognising it's true potential even after having thumping majority and world's highest approval rating for its leader.

Both money and nation are important, even many soldiers join the army cause of the post-retirement benefits and amenities you get while being part of the army. There is nothing wrong with that, not to mention they will be trained to serve the country and training will be brutal, but they will end up being disciplined and more respectful citizens of Bharat. israel is a good example, of why this type of initiative is good.

Many High ranking generals have pointed out that 4 years which includes training and leaves etc isn't sufficient enough to train a battle ready combatant , and even if they are trained, they'll be left off . Hope we aren't doing the same mistake as the Chinese are doing . I feel a semi mechanised experienced army is much better than a fully mechanised inexperienced army . Pension? Even regular salary is expensive because government is going bankrupt, as all money is going in politicians personal accounts, party funds, or to Adani and Ambani. No money left for spending on public, and it goes without saying that public is becoming poorer day by day. If you think that this tour of duty scheme is bad then worse is on the way, this scheme is still expensive and will be abandoned after a couple of years if it is at all implemented in the first place. Sir being a daughter of an army person ..I would like to highlight that this scheme is great but one problem that I see is that it requires a lot off dedication, efforts and years of training especially for defense services like infantry....it takes self motivation and self drive ....and a 6 month training is not enough (like mentioned in the scheme) to build commradry and that drive to do everything for the country....For eg: In Korea it is compulsory for every individual (male) to serve in military for 2 years but u see many people they make excuses to not get into military (I only know of celebrities as of now..) . This package is attractive and I know the time period of 4 years will teach them a lot of good things and of course discipline but then I THINK this will also dilute the feeling of PRESTIGIOUS job like armed force (if u know what I mean)...the agniveer will think of what will they do after 4 years and so on... I would be happy if I would be proved wrong but this is my view...u just can't compare a person being in service for 10- 20 years to a person with just 4 years of service...I know this will bring more youth in the forces but IT TAKES TIME TO MOULD THAT YOUNG YOUTHFUL SOUL TO A DISCIPLINE SELFLESS AND BRAVE PERSON...

IMO, It may sound a lucrative deal at first but is not much lucrative as you examine it. After 4 years of service, the 75% agniveers who will be retd. won't have much options. Like, they will have to start their degrees from beggining at the age of 22 when almost all other youths of their age might have completed their degrees... Some students who are aspiring to be an iitian or nitian won't have an option because you can't attempt jee after 2 years of passing class 12.... If students who serve as agniveers would get chance to attempt jee even after their job ends, it would surely attract more people....

Army is giving agnipath certificate for them and with that they can easily get loans from banks for starting businesses. This step of govt is going to increase the no of unicorns and big indian companies. These retired young soldiers will be well mannered , determined , passionate towards success . After retirement they are going to contribute a lot in our GDP . Plus our govt will save a lot of money as it will not have to give them pension and other benefits for lifetime. This saved money can be used to expand our nuclear arsenal and other military eqipments. Since 25 percent of soldiers will be given permanent commision , all of the soldiers in this scheme will be serving the army in their best way possible . I can see in my mind that those retired 75 percent beneficiaries of this scheme are going to be a gamechanger for make in India .... !!

This was not my salary till 2019 even after 6 years in IT industry as I started from humble 2 lakh a year and stayed in the same company. I feel the package is very respectful and then to get an opportunity to serve the nation directly being part of the most respectable force is a dream job and that too it's for 4 years. So if after your due period if you want to do something different or pursue education then you will still have age, money and discipline of defence to aid you.

This is a terrible scheme. I urge all general caste to not enroll in this. You'll waste your precious 4 years for temporary employment and when 75% are dropped after 4 years GC will again have to compete in market but they would only be matric or at best 12th pass out. General Caste avoid this scheme and fight against it.

Technically the salary is 21,000 rs as 30% of the salary (30,000) which becomes 9,000 is contributed to the sevanidhi, the same amount will also be contributed by the government. The sevanidhi amount will be paid to you at the end of your job.

There is no problem in this scheme, but There are thousands students who has cleared the written test, physical & medical test, & They were waiting for the joining in Airforce & Army, but it was postponed due to pandemic since March 2020, Now Government has said that all pending recruitment has been cancelled 😏. And new recruitment will be through Agni path scheme. They could join these students & according to their rule they should apply same rule on pending recruitment 😏.

I disagree with you sir....(At least in case Indian defence force no contract basis ). And India's all time reserve force available is CAPF... Not this Agnipath and Territorial Army Etc. As I am from Defence background we know govt wants reduce man power and pension to defence people This will adversely affect rural poor candidate Who is preparing for defence , who want to improve quality of life... Because many of known from Rural areas are unhappy about this decision. This surely has bad impact. They are not concern with other politics topics and also they voted Present govt in 2014 2019.

He is talking about reserve from defence point of view. A soldier when retires becomes the part of reserve which can be used in times of war. Crpf soldiers at best can be used as basic infantry. Whereas reserve soldiers go to their parent units like tanks, artilary, signals, fighter pilots, submariners, ships etc etc.

Compulsory military training for all is the way to go, 4 years of service without guarantee of being permanent is big deterrent, 17 to 21 is the prime age to acquire skills needed for the rest of the life, so what if one do not become permanent Agniveer? Then it's not mandatory for all means politicians, businessmen, media persons,actors and other influential people will never send their children to join and serve the country. If it's service to the nation then it should be mandatory for all, who are capable enough to do so, Israel is the best example. P.S. it's the politicians who lack the discipline, the recent RS election is the big example, India needs political reforms too, first it should be mandatory for any political person to join Agniveer before they become politicians.

There is a reason Indian army is one of the best, it's because people were not forced to work, they all went in willingly. No government will take everyone eligible as a permanent agniveer for the army. Permanent commission depends on a lot of factors. It's about the ARMY of the world's biggest democracy, not about a sarkaari babu in government departments. Think big.

Suggestions for improvement of the scheme: In case an angniveer dies, there should be private insurance companies which would provide insurance for the agniveer in excess of the already insured 48 lakhs, remember that the family loses a very young person who could have been the familys' help in old age and disease. So perhaps the person can have a "top-up" with the extra premium so that the insured amount can reach up to 1 Crore + and also the payment could be done to the families in monthly installments over a 10-year period if the family chooses to do so, so that they don't spend the entire 1 Cr amount once received all together for more financial discipline.

Those many country who have compulsory military are mostly under developed or non democracies like North korea, Russia, south korea, venizula, iran, israel, taiwan, ukraine etc. These countries are at war all time, so its necessary they have man power to fight. India is not at no war with neighbors countries, India with 2nd largest population in world does not require more manpower to serve in armed forces.
