As De Mille says in the narration, the Swan Lake pas is danced by Andre Eglevsky and Diana Adams. I don't know that she's correct about there having been no more than 8 danseurs noble in the world at the time.

What a miracle to see this! I was fortunate to hear Gemze talk about what a brilliant partner James was - and here is the proof. Neither Broadway nor Hollywood took full advantage of his many talents.

Agnes was not a ballet dancer. It's a very old rare film.

Maxine Rose they all studied ballet...doesn't mean she was a good ballet dancer. Her choreographer is more dramatic/comic and theatre dance oriented.

Is this from her Omnibus program? I wonder how much is left from those programs--there's so much I'd love to see. This is great to see--thanks! Do you know who the Odette is? Feel I should know, but I don't. Could it be Lupe Serrano? All I could do is eliminate a bunch of the likely possibilities, given period, geography & partner. Anyway, nice to know Gemze DeLappe continues working still, teaching & coaching works like OKLAHOMA & PAINT YOUR WAGON. She & James Mitchell were wonderful here.

Hey there Avalon. I feel it is my duty to the arts to get this stuff out there when possible. However one must be careful of the copyright hounds. Even though something is 50-60 years old and everybody dead, they still want money. Therefore the art and history of the art dies. They won't let you see anything, ridiculous! Anyway the beautiful Odette is Diana Adams from the NYCB and Andre Eglevsky. I know Lupe but haven't seen her in a long time. Gemze is a very dear friend. I see her often.

This is NOT Agnes dancing! She narrates dancing techniques but the dancing is done by others.
