hello ma'am, why does a partial agonist act as an antagonist when its present with a full agonist on the same receptor?
@PharmaQuestions3 жыл бұрын
Hi, great question! A partial agonist has both agonist and antagonist properties. When a partial agonist and a full agonist are present at the same receptor, the partial agonist acts as an antagonist as both substances are trying to compete for one binding site.

Methadone is a partial agonist

Incorrect, methadone is a full agonist. Examples of partial agonist opiods include buprenorphine, butorphanol, and tramadol.
