On the bright side (?) Isha actually DID "break the pattern" - she knew that she was about to sacrifice herself, and her plan did exactly what she intended (note the smile of total peace on her face as she shuts her eyes at the end). Unlike Powder, Isha understood the tech she was using, and successfully used it in a way that didn't harm anyone other than her target and herself. She defended her "family" in the way Powder tried and failed to do.

2:35 that's for hearing Impaired people so that they can understand tone of the scene. Instead of misconception and confused by the sudden change in emotions

Victor choosing to save Vander’s mind is him choosing doing Good over the pursuit of Great, and as long as he sticks to that ethos I’m always on his side

That's a great way of putting it. That's part of the confusion for me this episode because there's this questionable magic turning people into what in hindsight are probably something like human automotons, but that's not at all how Victor feels or what he seems to want

Regardless of how you feel about the writing decisions in this episode (I for one really like what they are doing with the characters so far), the direction and sound design/music during the final sequence with the Viktor voiceover was truly brilliant. Full body goosebumps just from the presentation of it all. Aesthetically it doesn't get better than this.

The cog that Viktor had is the same cog that him and jayce were passing around to each other when they first discovered hextech in season 1 episode 3

Been here since the attack on titan reactions began. Your perspective is really fascinating and even with incredibly messy shows like arcane and aot you always approach the characters with the grace and empathy i think they deserve. Big fan of vi and caitlyn and im curious to see how you feel about both at the end.

There's two things this episode has taught me The immeasurable depression of Isha's sacrifice and how much I needed the word "Gulie" in my vocabulary

Been watching the channel since 2020 but never really commented. Just wanted to take the time and say you're one of the best reactors and I appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos man. Your channel and everything have really been there for me, thru some hard times and I will always look forward to watching them. Also, The Dragon Prince just finished up with season 7 last week, so I'll look forward to watching your eventual reactions to 4-7. Seasons 4 and 5 are kind of rough, but seasons 6 and 7..are better, I guess? Anyways, Happy holidays Goodwin.

Thank you! I really appreciate that 😁 Dragon Prince is coming up a lot these days but the reviews are so mixed that I've been putting it off. But I have to finish it

It's a risk to tell them they're wrong or someone did this and that in the past, but having the courage to forgive them is one of the best feeling that we can do and the start of moving forward.

huh that thought that we value free will because it maximizes potential was really interesting. i liked that whole 'morality = value/potential vs waste' tangent a lot it reminded me how i recently heard about Joshua Milton Blahyi (in an arcane analysis video actually!). he was a warlord, killed and ate children regularly for rituals during his stint, but then turned his life around and became an activist. and most people are very unsure on what to think of that. on one hand he's doing good now, so there's this instinct to think 'great, just leave him to it', but on the other hand, regardless if this specific person's remorse is genuine, is this setting a precedent that you can just commit atrocities and you'll be let of the hook if you'll look like you regret it and do some activism?
@AGoodwinTV6 күн бұрын
Right that's a tough one. The precedent along with the question of the turnaround being genuine are hardest to sort out, outside of the moral

several fun things: Warwick/vander, after losing his humanity, has "lava in his veins, shadows in his heart, targets in his eyes" or whatever the saying was isha was clapping last episode, and this episode she uses 3 stones to blow up. isha is the monkey bomb. vi brought attention to this last episode, but our protagonists each have different strengths. but the cool thing is how they line up with noxus vi - might cait - vision jinx - guile isha - sacrifice
@JessieBalls6 күн бұрын
Also about Guile, Ambessa clearly does not like it because she’s a duelist at heart, who like Vi always prefers to solve a problem by punching it away, but a good example of Guile is Ambessa using Caitlyn as a puppet to take control of Piltover by proxy, just the idea of disguising your intentions and all that jazz
