Years ago in areas of Northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri cotton growing cotton on the sandy ground Farmers would plant winter wheat to use as a catch area to protect seedling cotton from sand damage but these areas were combined in June for grain.... blowing sand would cut young cotton down..

While I understand the need for finding better tillage practices...I doubt it will be less than 10 years before some salesmen in N.Dakota re-invents selling the plow...my point is...what we bought 5 years ago isn't good enough...but looking at my dad's vhs tapes from our fields in the late 80's, they look just as well tilled with 160 hp tractors and discs.
