Interesting as always, strange it’s still a legal label option to use atrazine pre-em when it leaches as much. We have not had atrazine for a long time in the UK, but I believe Syngenta make it here for export.

My curiosity is, what can I apply as pre emergence and also post for a backyard patch of sweet corn?

Hello Gentlemen. Are there any decent robotic weeding machines coming to market in the near future. Like an agricultural Roomba that you can send out without operator? This was discussed when I was in University almost 20 years ago as the "future". Which is ironic as cultivation between rows was considered "ancient" in the mid 2000's. Thanks.

Hi Brian and Darren! I could really use your help. I am currently planning a career change into the field of agronomy. I am very passionate about soil fertility and soil conservation. I graduated with Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science in 2011 (along with several agronomy electives) and completed a crop scouting internship that summer. More recently, I scouted weekly for my father in-law last summer. I'm also using much of my free time to brush up on agronomy concepts (your videos are most help in this endeavor!). Currently working in AR for a utility infrastructure company (I know, quite an eclectic background). I live in NW Wisconsin. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can make my career change dreams happen? Thank you so much!

Ran plenty of situations where we've been 6 oz of Mesitrone total after 2 passes and have not seen any sort of carry over. Also not being at the full rate of Atrazine, you're going start seeing larger seeded broadleaves come on. Using no atrazine pre is one of the worst recommendations I've heard. Please don't listen to this.

Absolutely...low atrazine rates = horseweeds burcumbers morning glory and cocklebur problems and then you have to hope you get them in your post pass...and status has such a risk for damage there is no way I'd consider spraying it at all...it screwed up v2 corn royally for me never again

@@stickyicky2100 I'm a firm believer in a two pass corn program that splits a full rate. This year I split Degree Xtra in a half rate with 3 oz of Ten Callisto each shot. I truly feel this is going to help me in soybeans the following year. With no new actives or modes of action coming, we have to get aggressive to get mileage out of the trait platforms we have.

@@harrydoyle1408 I try and get 70% of my chems on pre just because I have so many acres to cover and sometimes don't get a post pass on some corn acres like in wet years such as this...splitting up fultime nxt spiking extra atz with 3oz generic meso each shot...I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I didn't get atz down pre...and yes it definitely helps in soybeans the next year and corn on corn scenarios
