I still don't like the American rules. They're convoluted and don't seem very beneficial from an academic or strategic point of view. The East Asian rules are better, as evidenced by their larger competitions and superior entrants.

American rules are just a dream for me, in Turkey the rules nearly block the floodfill method. You can start from 8 different positions, and you can quit from 8 different positions. And there is no rule like time limit you have one try, we can only search, can't run!
