Additionally, the flooded plains can also be used for growing water animals (such as duck) or aquaculture (small fish). In case of duck, it provides an additional income with largely no losses (though a small loss in crop yield may occur), a natural pesticide killer and soil enchancer. Aquacultures are more tricky, but the point of the comment is that rice farmers may effectively use their lands not solely for rice production. I am living nowhere near where rice is usually grown, so correct me if I am wrong.

vze1lat7 There will be mate. I’m working on a small scale project right now. Exactly 7 days ago, I introduced rice seeds to the grow media. They are at the moment about 1dm high. The roots have the same length. I don’t do this to make money. I do this experiment to see if there is a way to improve the harvest even in dry areas, to spread the knowledge around the world (if I succeed).
@usmanabdullahi18933 жыл бұрын
@@chukwow5738 how far have you gone with this research? Any success yet?
@chukwow57383 жыл бұрын
@@usmanabdullahi1893 Thanx for asking. Partial success I would say😐. I had to abort my “mission” after successfully growing seedlings😞. I’m now stuck in my home country (Sweden) and can not continue my project. If you are genuinely interested to continue, I would be more than happy to share my experience to that moment of growth with you. I’m not looking for solutions that make me rich, I’m looking for solutions so people can put food on their table. Many parts in the world have not enough water, and rice (farmed traditionally) wastes a lot of water.
