It has been asked in UPSC CSE 2014 "Relevance of pure line selection in both self and cross pollinated crops" 12.5Marks, what to write for cross pollinated crops, can we write though it is not relevant directly for C.P. but indirectly for getting desired either of parents it helps..

In the second year , we cultivated a no. of plants in a row from the seeds that were harvested in the first year from the individual plants. Now plz tell me, in the second year, do we have to harvest the seeds of each individual plant separately without mixing them or we can harvest the seeds of the complete row togather.
